Weather ~ cold but at least it was sunny

A Merry Mickey Christmas INDEX

I was very :sad1: when I woke - I hate the last day because you're always watching the clock and trying to make the last of every minute.

I took a few last photos of the hotel

then we loaded the car up and headed off to Downtown Disney to drop the cases off.

We checked in and were a bit annoyed that we'd lost the seats we'd reserved. We'd never had a problem before and I wished I'd used the hotel terminal to check in online.

We toyed with going to a park for a couple of hours but no one really felt like it so we wandered round the shops until our ADR at T-Rex.

We all shared the supersaurus sampler

then everyone else ordered burgers

and I had a chicken sandwich and my favourite soft drink from Yak and Yeti.

We were all so full that we didn't bother with a dessert - we thought we'd pop over to Ghirardelli's a bit later on but never managed it as we were still too stuffed! We went into DisneyQuest for a bit but none of us really like it in here so didn't stay long. We finished off our last bits and bobs of shopping, took my last photo on Disney property and headed off to the airport.

We were on the late flight but had been told this morning that we would be delayed by a couple of hours. I felt sorry for people on the earlier flight as most didn't seem to know there was a delay with theirs too and in the end we actually left before them. I never mind the outward flight as there's the whole of the holiday to look forward to but never enjoy the journey home. The only plus side to us losing our seats is that we'd been put on the other side of the plane so could 'wave' to our house!

As the plane descended we could see the snow on the fields and when we met up with our driver he explained how he'd been stuck in snow drifts and it had taken him over 6 hours to do the same airport run the day before.

The girls and I were back to school/college/work the next day but Bryan had the day off to go and collect our dogs from the kennels and once they were back in the house it felt good to be home.

Here's some of the Christmas decorations Bryan bought - he likes to collect them and if we lose him we always know he'll be in the Christmas shop!

:) My Thoughts :)

We'd had the most fantastic holiday and had loved every minute of it. This was probably our last WDW holiday as the whole family so I wanted it to be very special and it was, in every way. :goodvibes

I'm not sure I'd choose to go this time of year again as I didn't like the colder weather, I know this winter was exceptionally cold but I also didn't like it getting dark so early in the evening. I loved seeing all the Christmas trees, theming and shows but having also been to Disneyland Paris for Christmas I think it has the edge on the Christmas decorations although of course it's like comparing apples and oranges and I have loved spending Christmas at both.

Thank you to everyone who's taken the trouble to read my ramblings and for your kind comments ~ it seems to have taken forever to finish this report so thank goodness I had a full set of notes!

It's not long until my next Disney fix, less than three weeks in fact until we go to Disneyland Paris to celebrate my 50th birthday ~ and yay, the whole family is going!! :cloud9:

Well I am right proper sad. I have really enjoyed your Xmas trip and would dearly love to take my own girls at this magical time of year. Thanks so much for sharing amazing times and fab memories.:goodvibes

Hi Elaine, what a wonderful time you all had - sounds like my perfect trip!

Lovely to see your dd's way back on their first visit - so nice that you've made so many memories.
