Today DD turned SEVEN!!! She was so excited! I had called in our breakfast order the night before, but called to change it to 1/2 hour earlier. We all slept in, but the kids were wide awake by 7:30.
Our food was sooooo good. We had so much room in the living room. I set up the kids at the small dining table and turned the TV to angle towards them. DH and I sat at the edge of the sofa bed with the room service table in front of us. We watched TV and just took our time eating.
This day was very bittersweet for me. It was a such an emotionally difficult day for me. As a reminder, our house had been burglarized less than 48 hours ago. This was our checkout day and the reality of returning home was too much for me. One of my best friends was coming with her daughter later and wanted to see DD7 for her birthday. I couldn't handle seeing her so I texted her that we can't see her. I texted my immediate supervisor that I wouldn't be going to work the next day (police department was coming to fingerprint the affected areas) and that I wasn't sure yet about Tuesday. We were also planning to do a party that Saturday with my cousins and their daughters as well as my other best friends and her daughter. I had to cancel that party because I couldn't imagine hosting a party at that point. Before breakfast came, I was sooooo deeply saddened that I must have cried multiple times.
Despite all this, we were really loving our suite and its space. Our plan was to finally vacate when checkout time arrived. I called for Bell Services to pick up beforehand, but they were so backed up. It took him almost 30 minutes!
After he came, we bid a very sad goodbye to the completely awesome suite.
We were already changed into our swimwear and headed straight for the E Ticket pool. It was about 11:30 and it was already SOOOOOOO hot!!! OMG! We managed to find some pool chairs with an umbrella.
DH took the kids into the pool while I went to Earl of Sandwich to pick up lunch. There was a bit of a line. I ordered, waited, & headed back. I think I may have been gone for about 30 minutes. Everyone ate and DD went straight for the pool afterwards. She is such a MERMAID!!!
Here is DS chowing down on my beef sandwich!
Here I happened to see Goofy outside the Fantasy Tower so I grabbed DD!
DD later took a nap for quite some time.
We finally left the pool around 4:30, used the outside shower to clean up the kids, changed in the restroom, and dropped the rest of the bags (pool bags and snack bag) with Bell Services.
We walked between the Adventure Tower and the pool and made our way to the PPH to eat at Paradise Grill (I think that's the name). We had dinner there for DD's birthday. The food and drinks were good. DH ordered the cream of mushroom soup. He hardly touched it because the kids DEVOURED it. Must have been mighty yummy because DD normally HATES mushrooms!

The restaurant was pretty quiet...not at all busy.
We saw this bus as we entered the PPH before dinner. Cars is one of DS's absolute favorite movies!
We browsed at the lobby gift shop and walked back to the Frontier Tower. DD had to PEE!!! The public restrooms in the towers are soooo pretty and retro. I had to take photos!
We took some more photos of the lobby.
We walked back to the Fantasy Tower and retrieved our belongings from Bell Services and the car from Valet Parking. We noticed that there were 3
Disneyland security vehicles and one ambulance parked. The person must have been okay because the EMT's returned to the ambulance with their stretcher. The kid were curious while waiting for the car. The EMT's noticed and were so sweet to the kids, asking if they wanted to come in and look!!!! Uh,...YES!!! They got in so fast! They even got to sit in the front! That was so sweet!
The car was loaded up and we took the sad drive home!

DD fell asleep within 5 minutes. With DH's driving, we were back home in less than 25 minutes!
SYNOPSIS OF OUR WEEKEND TRIP:
The weekend started off on an EXTREMELY sad and depressing note. However, the Disney CM's really came through for this family and granted us some SERIOUS pixie dust.

They called it Disney Magic. They staff at the registration lobby area were so nice, accommodating, and very sympathetic to our situation.
We really had a wonderful time and will never forget that wonderful and amazing suite.
BTW, I did send thank you letters to Disneyland Corporate and to the Front Desk Manager. I actually received a follow-up phone call thanking me for the letter and acknowledging that the CM's would be recognized!

Thank you for following along! Now I've got to finish my other TR for my bday celebration last week!
