A Magical Sailing-October 4-11, 2008

This is the first trip report that I have written, but not our first time to cruise. My family consists of:

Myself-Gena (41)-a 4th grade teacher and total Disney nut!
DH Phil (39)-loves the days at sea with no where to go
DS Patrick (13)-loves everything about cruising, especially eating steak every night
DS Payton (10)-probably ate at least a gallon of ranch dressing while on board

Our first cruise (May 2007 on the Wonder) was a dream!!! We had the time of our lives. We loved it so much that 4 days was just not long enough. We rebooked while on-board. It seemed like forever before the next 18 months would pass. Finally, October arrived and we were ready to sail.

Sorry about the delay in posting. We have had a bit of a problem since we got home. Apparently while we were gone, a pipe burst in our sons' bathroom, flooding part of our house. It is a nightmare come true!!!

Anyway, back to our tr.

We left Alabama on Wed, Oct. 1st around 3:15. I teach school, so I would be missing the last 2 days before our fall break. Our plans were to drive to Tifton, GA, spend the nigth and then finish the rest of the trip on Thursday. Everything went according to plan and we arrived in Orlando around noon on Thursday. After grabbing lunch at Qdobe's, we went straight to the Character Premier Outlet for a little shopping. I always go here first to see what they have in stock before I purchase any shirts at DTD. Needless to say, they had a great selection and everyone (except DH) left with several new shirts. After a little more shopping at the outlets, we left and went to SSR to check-in. DH decides to upgrade from a studio to a 1 bedroom and thankfully they had one available. Our room was ready. We were in Congress Park on the first floor. This was a great room, with somewhat of a view of DTD and close to the parking lot and bus stop. After getting settled, DS 13, DS 10 and myself head over to DTD for a little shopping before dinner. DH stayed in the room and did a little work. We were meeting some friends from home for dinner (whose son happenes to be in my class this year), and had to wait a little while for them to arrive. Their original plans were to leave on Wednesday, but they ended up not leaving until Thursday morning. After they arrived we went to Wolfgang Puck Express and ate. It is really nice since they did their remodeling. We really enjoy eating here. I just wish we had time to go to Earl of Sandwich as well. After a great meal, the guys went off to the Lego Store, while the girls took our time and went to the World of Disney. It felt funny shopping tonight, knowing that this would be the only time I would be at DTD during this trip. We love to go and hang out here in the evenings. Anyway, around 9:30 we start heading back to the room, but not before a stop at Goofy's Candy Company. DS 13 had to get a chocolate dipped oreo while DS 10 had to get his slush drink. Unfortunately, DS 10 dropped his drink while we were in the store. Thankfully, the folks there helped dry a tear or two and gave him a new one. I just love the castmembers at Disney. Anyway, off to bed we go, getting ready for a day of rides and fun.
