How noisy is Loop 1500? Any site recommendations? I like that location better than 200, as we are tent camping. We will have 2 large (14 x 10) tents......

Thank you!

Have stayed in the 1500 loop many times and had good experiences each time. Close to the trading post, pool, and campfire program.

I was hoping that was the case..... We have to 7 year olds, so I think it would be better.

Thanks!

Just make SURE you tell them what type and size of tents you have. Loop 1500 is older and tends to have smaller areas for tents, and there can be trees and the grill in bad spots.

Loop 2000 is lots newer and designed for tent campers. There are rarely trees in the way, and the grill is off on it's own little side pad. The pads have on 2000 have always had room for my little tent city.

While I LOVE the location of 1500, not being able to set up my site the way that's comfortable for me and mine will actually quite diminish my enjoyment of the trip, so I pick 2000 for that reason.

That is an excellent thought! We will have to discuss this!

Thank you for the valuable input.:santa:

The Fort is not loud at all, its about camping enjoy the noise no one has to work the next day.:thumbsup2

The 1500 loop was peaceful tonight when the wife and I drove thru with the golfcart enjoying out cocktails. As I posted about the 100 loop, I had thought about asking for it since it was close to the action and now glad I didn't. The ferry horns will wake you up in the morning and puts you to bed at night. I think the captain just like blowing it.

We just returned from a trip to the 2000 loop and wished we were in the 1500. 2000 was very noisy and busy the first weekend and since it is alongside the group camping area, there was noise from dozens of boy scouts a nd families as well. It is a really big loop. It did clear out for a peaceful middle week stay, but got busy again on Firday with another huge group in the group camping area. The 1500 is much preferred!

People crack me up asking about how "quiet" a loop is. Every day at every loop there are a new set of people that make up the loop, so really in effect, it's foolish to ask such a question. What conceivably could be a quiet loop today could be a noisy one tomorrow. The only constant is the stupid boat horns which I still heard in 1600 loop last week.

Quite honestly, I would much prefer to be in 1500, however, there are only a few sites in 1500 that allow me to set up the way I like, so I ask for 2000. Yes it can get loud in 2000 on the weekends, but I was well away from the group camping area and actually never saw anyone there my entire 2 week stay.

I adored being in the 1500 loop. It was a very quiet and central location, which is why I'll be requesting it every time I stay there.

Since we're going on 1/1, and it will be crowded, we've decided to just go with whatever we are assigned. Then we can check everything out and make our requests next time, as we know there will be a next time. The boys, both age 7, are getting tents for Christmas, and this is part of their gift!

Thank you, again, for all the info!

Are you saying that guns don't kill people, people kill people? Its not the heat, its the stupidity? If a tree falls in the forest, does that make a loop noisey?

While it's not the 1500 loop, we love the 1600 that backs to the 1500 loop and if it's within like 5 or 6 sites from the Comfort station, we are in heaven. I don't think one should worry about the noise from other campers, but things like loops close to central buss stops like at the settlement or around Meadows from the delivery trucks and are light sleepers might see some down side to those sites.

On my last trip I was in the 1900 loop and heard a thunderous roar which I attributed to Gatordad and his previous night of beer drinking.

that is correct. When I was in Arizona, I made the cacti cry.

We now have a 15 x 12 tent and a screen house. This last trip we were assigned 1501 and it wasn't big enough so we had to scout out something in the 2000 loop. It was our first time in 2000 and we loved it. A lot more space although our campsite was 435 ft. from either comfort station but it was no big deal except at night for those 2:00 a.m. nature calls...we had a golf cart so that made it easier.

Noise? You get used to it. Like others have said, one day it may be noisy, another day maybe as quiet as a mouse. I can usually get used to most people noise but one incident with some kid with a basketball decided to dribble around the loop a few times early one morning. It was torture! :headache:
