Just some background, this was the cat that was losing weight and starting to look very bad. The Vet diagnosed her with a thyroid problem and gave her medication to slow down the hormones. That appointment was on 5/22 and she only weighed 5 pounds 2 ounces.

I just came back from the Vet with her and her weight is now 6 pounds 13 ounces!! :thumbsup2 I'm so relieved that the medications is doing what we hoped it would. Beside the weight gain, she's much more playful and is grooming herself better.

Just wanted to share some good feline news. :goodvibes

That's great news! My cat is hyperthyroid and takes medication daily ,I think it's time for a recheck soon because shes displaying all the obvious signs again! :sunny:

Good news! BTW, I had a hyperthyroid cat that lived 17 years! My sweet baby Rambo.... boy, was that the sweetest cat that ever lived!

So glad your kitty is doing better! :thumbsup2

I'm so glad things are looking up! Cat's are so tricky sometimes and they are a pain to bring to the vet (at least mine are). It must feel like a big victory to have had such a good weight gain in just 6 weeks or so!

I'm afraid one of my cats has a similar problem, but the opposite... she's HUGE and always seems to be cold.

Which vet do you use? We use Dr. Losey. We just love them there. The cats have not been there yet, but the dog goes almost weekly :dog:

I use the Auburndale Vet Clinic. I've seen several different Vets. The one that diagnosed the Calico's problem was a woman, Dr. Chatham I think. Very nice and easy to talk to. :thumbsup2

I have heard wonderful things about Dr. Chatham! Dr. Losey is pretty close to retiring, I think. We'll probably switch to Chatham when that happens.

Glad your kitty is doing better. :thumbsup2
