A little Texas Christmas Magic - 12/21/2012

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad's diagnosis...glad his treatments are finishing up in time for the holidays!
I would be happy to include your group, along with the others that recently joined, in my FE deliveries! If a 2nd group is not started, just PM me your info and room numbers and I'll be sure to include you! The same goes for the other 2 or 3 families (I think it was CamFamluvsDsny, dwcsk8 & AZDisneyFamily) that recently joined...I'd hate for anyone to be left out!

:confused3
OK, so here is my question & please do not flame me. How many CABINS are in the FE? Apparently, I am not Google doc literate.
I know we had 30 cabins on 11/24. Then some other disers were added & there will be a 2nd FE group.
I am just looking for a final total number so I know if I am able to add the 2nd FE. My FE gift is labor intensive & I need to plan for luggage space too since we are flying. I need more supplies to finish 30 anyway, so before I go to the store again can someone please tell me what the total is?
:santa: Thank you!

Hi Skypixy,
I just looked at the google doc and with the three families you mentioned I am counting 32 and 2 that added to FE#2 (there were a couple on both lists).

We are a little confused too...I know that on 11/24 we had 30 cabins and we based our FEs then on 30 but now I guess there is a second FE group...We would also like to know what the total number of FEs is too so that we have time to make some more.

I am still buying gifts so more than happy to include everyone in our deliveries, Hope this helps x x

2nd FE Group – Since the closing of the first FE group we have more families who would like to participate. There is a 2nd group started. If you are in the 1st group and would also like to participate in the 2nd group just add yourself to the new column on the spreadsheet. If you are in both groups then you would give to those in first and second groups but you are not giving people in both groups twice. So far there has not been a cutoff date set for the 2nd group. If anyone has any opinions as to a cut off let me know.

As of right now I think there are 7 cabins in the 2nd FE that are not in the 1st FE. That is according to the spreadsheet as of right now. I am not sure however of those who joined the 1st FE after the deadline.

As of right now it looks like there is 34 cabins in the first FE. I am not sure though who joined when. :/ That however is some multiple cabins for same family so I am not sure how you are handing out your gifts. Every cruise I have been on there are people who join after the 1st FE deadline. It always happens. :/

Brooklyn - We would like to give FEs to both groups. Each individual gets one present no matter what group they are in.

Thanks,
Diane:santa:

After a looong day, I found my happy place by thinking about the Vista Spa.
And our verandah in the morning while I have coffee.
Aaahh, much better!:)

I really don't have an update except this:
I was contacted by DCL rep Alma this week. She was responding to my email request for a room that we could use for our exchange. Just so you know, they require a lot of info when you send in a group request & I had to provide them a "guestimate" of adults & children attending. They also needed to know if we required beverages, characters, audio/visual, blah blah blah.
So I explained that it was an organized ornament exchange for our cruise group from the Disboards. She found it quite funny that I used the term "infamous Disboards" in my email request.
Well, all the CMs know about us crazy Disers, right? Infamous!
So, that is my non-update. She has passed the request on to the Magic.

Kimwhitt93 - yes, there are spa specials. My favorites are usually on the days we are in port. There is an open house at the spa at the beginning of the cruise. It's a good time to check it out and to ask when their specials will be.:goodvibes

Thanks y'all for joining the second FE group! And just to clarify, you do not have to give a FE to every individual (I saw the question being asked on Facebook) just to every stateroom. We are excited to distribute our FE's.

Also, how do I join the ornament exchange? Do I just add us to the spreadsheet?

Lastly, I think I saw it mentioned that we might do a cabin tour to see decorations? Is this still going on? We would open up our 1 bedroom suite (connecting to a family stateroom).

So excited to meet all of y'all!

Nancy

HI!

I am the contact person for the ornament exchange. I was adding people to the list on page 9 of this thread, but then the Google doc was added & that was easier. Please add your name & see post 133 for the details/guidelines of our exchange.
-Please bring an ornament representing your "part of the world", Disney, tropical, nautical, whatever you like!
-Keep the ornament in the $10-$15 range
-Please be sure it is wrapped or in a gift bag for the exchange
-We have young people signed up, so there will be no "stealing" allowed

I have given DCL an approximate number of attendees & they will inform us of the availability/date of a room for our gathering.
I don't see a reason to "close" the exchange, but I do want to make sure that everyone who brings an ornament receives one in return. Then we meet eachother & make new friends!

Final location/date/time will be announced. Most likely Sat. 22 or Sun 23 AM.

We really don't have a vote, it will be the day they have a room available for us to use. One of those dates & it is up to them!
I will post as soon as I hear from them which venue & date/time.

For the people who have cruised during the holidays before: Do they show any Christmas movies onboard either on the stateroom tv or in the Buena Vista Theater? :santa:

I remember Christmas Mickey/Donald/Goofy cartoons on tv, Prep & Landing on the tv & the screen at the Goofy pool.
We saw "Tangled" at the BVT, it was a premier on Christmas....
Can't remember any others right now...
