DD#2 (11) came home sick today from school after throwing up. She said she had a headache earlier but not now, and said she has a little diarhhea. She was asleep when I left at 6:30 and told DH she didn't feel well but he didn't take her seirously (yes, he feels bad about it now). No earache or sore throat. Throwup is mostly phlegm.
She has had perfect attendance since 2nd grade--she missed 3 days that year and hasn't missed a full day since. I wouldn't mind blowing that record, but tomorrow is the day they (the 5th graders) tour the junior high and set up their schedules. They can't make it up with another school; it's tomorrow or nothing. She really, REALLY wants to be better. We have a doctor's appointment at 2, but if you want to send us a little tad of pixie dust :wizard: we'd appreciate it.

Wishing your daughter a speedy recovery! My kids always seem to get sick the day before something important, so I understand what you're going through. :)

You'll do what any other parent would do in a situation like this where school administration is unbending. You'll explain to your DD that she'll have to suck it up tomorrow and pretend not to be sick so she can get everything done at the Jr. High. ;)

Seriously, though, I hope she's feeling much better tonight so she can go tomorrow.

I will keep my fingers crossed that it's a 24 hour thing.

A couple of weeks ago my kids got something like that. They were felt sick, threw up and had diarrhea for about 30 minutes to an hour, and then they were fine. Emily got sick at about 3:30AM, and she was fine to go to day care that morning. I made sure she could keep down her breakfast - she did, and was fine all day long. Hannah got it two days later, got sick at about 6:30PM, slept all night, and was fine in the morning.

Hope she's better.

I hope she's better and can go. :thumbsup2

Thanks, it looks good...strep negative, she's tired but feeling better. I'm letting her watch way more than her regular amount of TV. I think she'll be able to make it to the tour. (If she didn't go I was just going to have her sister take her through the building one day after school, but it's not the same as going with all of your little buddies, I guess).
BTW Evil Queen, I still have my Mrs. Beasley--she doesn't talk anymore and doesn't have her glasses, but she sits on my dresser.
