A little OT, but...(Homeschooling)

Does anyone here homeschool? I'm seriously thinking about homeschooling for my kindergartener this fall, and I don't know anything about what or how to go about doing this. Is there somewhere I can look up about how to get started? Do I just need to contact the Dept. of Education for my state?

Thanks for any advice ya'll have. It looks a little overwhelming, but I'm thinking this will be the best route to go with my 4 y/o.
