We are going on a trip this Oct with Me, my Dad, Mom, and my DS (4).

I usually only do day trips with my son because we live pretty close, but this time I am dragging along my Dad(73)pirate:and Mom(Old and W/C bound due to stroke):tinker:. Needless to say the day gets taken up a little with what they need and I don't get to focus on my little one.

I am a single mom so the days I get to get away from work and spend at DL are very special. I expect them to retire to a hotel after dinner and want to do something fun that my lil guy hasn't done before. I thought about the MNSSHP, but after reading some of the issues going on this year I don't know if I want to shove out the money.

Any ideas to make the evening fun for a mommy and me adventure?:wizard:

Thanks for your help!

I am sure that many people with children will be able to provide good advice. Unfortunately I am not one of them, because I am sans children. As a result, I am still trying to figure out what might be good.

What issues concern you about the Halloween party? There are a multitude of unsubstantiated rumors and I'd hate for you to pass on a super fun event because some are freaking over the lack of info Disney has released.

I am worried about the MNSSHP because of the changes. I have been to the one in WDW and I went last year when it was at DCA. I don't like that they are letting the people stay to watch fireworks, I don't think I want to shove out money to have it be crowded with people that don't belong.

I figured it would be like WDW and they would let you in early and ask everyone to leave later on.

Your thoughts on what they are going to do?

Thanks,

TB

I would say go spend a little money and get the ticket. Most of the rumors around the MHP party are about the unknowns about having it in DL for the first time in 15 years, and they haven't released the remainder of the info yet. I hesitated about getting tickets, but in the end decided that it would be fun to do. I think it would be something that the 2 of you could do together that you would have a lot of fun at without your parents. It starts in the evening, so that you could have some quality time with your parents during the day, then have alot of fun with DS in the evening. He would have a great time interacting the the Disney characters, and apparently there will lots of kid oriented things for kids to do. I wouldn't take too long in making a decision, as the tickets have a good chance of being sold out by Oct, due to the trick or treat party being held in DL. Hope that this helps you out. Check out the Holloween super thread for tons of pics and info.

I am still on the edge... I.... will have to think about it , I think it will help when I can see the full Calendar for Sept.

I will buy really quickly if need be.

For dates, what do you think? 10/14-10/16 or 10/18-20 or 10/21-10/23?:confused3

Thanks!

I may be wrong, but I thought this was an unsubstantiated rumor. Disney's big sell in their release of the tickets is exclusive viewing of the fireworks. I believe the final decision was Halloween fireworks only for party goers and a normal fireworks show running on the weekends for regular guests.

Can anyone back me up on this?

From how I understand it, Al Lutz released the info regarding the party as "unofficial info", and there's been a severe backlash from those people who had already purchased tickets, as they were DVC and AP'ers, that demanded refunds if it wasn't an exclusive event that they have backed down, and now have the event exclusive. On the days of the MHP you can start entering the park at 3PM on Tues, and 4pm on Fridays. I hour before the event is slated to start the CM will herd the non ticketed people out of the park. They will be having other fireworks going on non MHP days, but really everything is heresay until the remainder of the MHP info is released. And the sooner the better if you ask me, as all of us who are going in Oct are waiting for the info (myself included) so that we can plan our trips to the mouse during Holloweentime. Hope that this clears up some of your questions.

You are all convincing me that's probably the best idea. I do wish they would hurry with the info and the schedule. My Dad really wants to see WOC, so my plans are complicated! :scared1:

THanks for everyones help!
