We are doing the party tonight and I really want to make the most of it and and enjoy as much as we can!! We had tickets to Dessert party but after reading reviews were skipping. It was to late to cancel which sucks but I'd rather not waste time in a crowded dessert party where they seem to cram more people and cut things back. Anyways now I have no idea what to do and how to make use of a our time. I think we will still use parade viewing spot so we don't have to wait as long to get a spot and show up around 8:00. If the parade starts at 8:30 what time would we be done? Should we not be at the flag pole as that will take the longest to get to us and then were just waiting for so long? If we were near where it starts then we'd be done quicker maybe by 9? We obviously want to watch CTM and Hallowishes which starts at 10 so what all can we really do in an hour before that? Do we stay at our spot and wait for fireworks, do we leave then come back right before they start. It just doesn't seem like a lot of time at any point in the night to get much done. An hour after the party starts its almost parade time then you only get about an hour after that till fireworks. I don't want to spend the entire night crammed on Main street or the hub but not miss these things. We have two small kids. We'd love to meet characters and trick or treat. Not worried about rides. Any advice would be good. Where we should watch parade and whats best to do before Hallowishes with our time but still make it back and be able to find a spot to watch :) Thanks!

Have you considered doing the second parade? If so you will not spend all of the time you described as time waiting. I would meet the characters from 4-8, do some trick or treating, watch the Celebrate the Magic and Hallowishes then stake out your spot on Main Street for the later parade, if your children are up to the task. I think you are overestimating the wait times a little. I hope you have a great time.

Thanks I think I might. I think my kids can make it to the second parade. Then that way we have way more time. Can you kinda just stay where you are after Hallowishes for parade? Or do we get trampled by people moving around?

If you end up at the first parade and your kids are interested in seeing Mickey in his Halloween costume, you could head there as soon as the parade's over, and then go find your fireworks spot after that meet.

Which characters are you wanting to meet?

I think were gonna line up for Dwarves at 5:30 ... then we want to see Jafar for sure and maybe the Genie. I need to check with kids which other ones. Doesn't seem like theres many Villains this year to meet.

Yeah, I think the only other villain is Cruella.

I think your plan of lining up for Dwarves at 5:30 is good, and then maybe head straight to Aladdin & friends (sounds like they are rotating Jasmine/Genie and Aladdin/Abu) so you might need to go through twice. I've also heard that the line for Jafar has been short-ish all night, so that's good news! I think by skipping the dessert party you should be able to get some rids and trick or treating in, meet your characters, and catch all the entertainment.

(I'm also one of those who had booked the dessert party and canceled...)

We went in mid October last year and got in line for the Dwarfs at 5:30. That ended up being too late. We didn't meet the Dwarfs until 6:30. I'd get in line closer to 5:00 and maybe you'd get to the Dwarfs by 6:00. Either way it's an hour in line, but at least you won't waste much party time in line.

Why would we meet them at 6? I thought they came out at 7? I just would hope to be one of the first around 7 so we can enjoy party once it starts. Maybe we will get in line around 5

Dwarves line moves really slow... Not really sure why since it's one picture only. Our pic time with them was probably less than a minute but waited from 6:30 till 8pm last year, so we missed an hour of party time.

There's a pretty big time gap between hallowishes and the second parade. Most also don't see it a second time. On thursday I was able to see the fireworks from the hub, did trick or treating at liberty square, fantasyland and tomorrowland and made it back to main street where I found just 1 row of people sitting on the curb so we stood behind them to catch the second parade. We didnt' rush, run or anything.

trick or treating goes really fast the later it gets. in the start the lines take a few minutes, by the end of the night your the only one in line and they hand you about a bag of candy at a time.

Oops. Sorry. I got my times mixed up. Add an hour to what I said...get in line at 6p for a 7p meet.
