a little girl turned away during the swap

About this whole thing that staff cannot put any item they want in inventory, I can only relay what I observed when I was in Phinney's trade room this weekend. I was up like second or third in the line from trading with her, and she made an announcement to the room that she would be back quickly, that she had to get more pins. Hmm, I interpret that to mean she is clicking/loading/inputting any number of pins she needs from a master item list. I doubt she has to buy her Grand Californian pins with an allowance-like credit limit.

As far as why Phinney doesn't accept just anything in trade for the hotel pin, could it be that she is just applying the same rule of supply and demand that we, the players, have set for items in vmk? I would not generally accept a trade that was not fair, i.e., a pair of jeans for a crown. The whole concept of rare and/or expensive, or plentiful and/or cheap is standard in vmk. I can see why she only accepts a trade of equal credit value.

The problem lies in the lack of foresight/preparation/organization of this pin trading event. They easily could post trade rules in pictures on the walls, in photo albums, in the room description -- or have volunteer CL's repeat the rules as general statements to the room. The rules for the spin the generator event are clearly posted -- why can't the rules for swap monster be posted too? Would save a lot of kids a lot of tears.

Or even better yet, maybe every vmk staff member should have a sign on their desk with the message "What would Walt do?"

Sure they can credit stuff to their inventory like Grand Pins but they certainly can't go give themselves 100 infernos just for fun. They can only do it for prizes and believe me they keep track of all that. I know one staff that doesn't have Inferno since he can't find a deal for one. The calendar should outline exactly what they are offering and what they want. It's not rocket science, just post the info. It was very discouraging for me and now I might just avoid those trade rooms and deal with my fellow players.

If they don't want your pin then they could give you another chance to put up something else up, after all the long lines and dc. Heck I think if you manage to get through the lines without disconnecting, they should just give you the pin as an award.

I like your way of thinking! They really should make "Waiting in Line" a game and just give us prizes!

I agree, but they should post it on their website rather than in a photo album or something. Because reading it in their room is too late. We should know before we get in line!! the line is at least a half hour wait lately!

AMEN! So many times I feel like survivor, if you can survive the line to get in the room, survive the line to get to the host and then survive the trade with her you get a pin!

VMK has really stepped up with announcing the events and that was really needed now they just need to provide us with a little more information. I remember with the Thanksgiving Event half the people didn't know what was going on. I just wanted straight forward instructions.

Lets not forget who the target group is for this game KIDS, they should have better easy to understand instuctions.

I have seen a forward progression, we can sell off rooms, we can now sell old teleporters, we have a calendar for events they are listening to some of what we want.

you poor little demented thing.. and tell your daughter i said hi! anyways, even tho i am a kid (wow, shocker for us all LOL) i know a lot about my species LOL. for instance, my little four year old brother. oh my god put a sock in his mouth! anyways, i thought maybe i should create a character for him and so i did. we went to WDW and got him some really cool quest stuff. but by the time we balanced the bills and the computer was back on (hey, we were gone for three weeks, we cant balance bills and experience disney thrills at the same time! LOL), the computer had viruses and we needed to re-boot the computer. which, may i point out, had his password saved on it!! i went to log him in:
User name:_boochyboochyboo_________________
Password:___uh.....________________________
i had forgotten! uh, what a bummer! i lost teleportation, pirate quest, everything! well, taught me a lesson: always write important things on paper LOL
:offtopic:
oops......
LOL

well here comes my two cents worth.....back when these trade/swap events started, i entered into a trade with phinny, i did try and give her a quest pin, when she seen it come up she told me that it must be of equal value to the pin i was getting, i offered her something else and asked if that was of equal value she said no, then i offered a third pin and she said that was of equal value and we both accepted......i do think that they should post something about what equal value means with an example if they need to so everyone, no matter your age, understands, before waiting in line to trade

as for sending a message to sulake it will do you no good as they have nothing to do with the customer service of disney and i am quite certain when they finally do respond to you, they will tell you that you must contact disney directly.....sulake helped disney with the the development of vmk but good luck
