I know I'm early for this but I like to keep my eyes open for things when I'm out shopping. Christmas is less than 4 months away. We cruise in January and I thought "Santa" might need some stocking stuffer ideas that could be cruise/disney related. Any suggestions? I thought I'd start this thread for some brainstorming by any elves that are out there. :hourglass

A few months ago there was a similar thread in the budget threads.

I love the dollar area of Target. They have some cool items there. They had some cool nightlights and even some wild looking light bulbs.

How about some pirate eye patches for the pirate party. pirate: They will fit in a stocking easily, dont cost a lot, will be out at halloween and be useful on the cruise. I'll look around and see what else I can come up with. i too am buying little things for stocking stuffers that are Disney related.
I will be interested to see what others come up with. Thanks for posting.

a chocolate ship to good to be true! :cloud9:

I don't know how old the "kids" are that you are shopping for, but I just recently put together backpacks for my neice and nephew for a vacation to Mexico. I bought them each their own distinctive backpacks (children sized) and filled them to the brim with vacation stuff. (Emma and Simon are 5 and 3 respectively), they each got their own new sunglasses, toothbrushes and kids toothpaste, fun band-aids, kids sunscreen and lip stuff. Then I also added some little entertainment things like those magic marker game books, some little spinning light up fans, auto yo-yos, light up flashing rubber necklaces (so that Mom & Dad can recognize them in the groups on stage). They each also got visors, some candy for the plane, a whole bunch of super balls. Emma got a new travel brush, mirror and comb, while simon got some rubber lizards. Emma also go some sool new sparkly nailpolish and Simon got this squiggly water ball. They also each got a mesh bag for picking up rocks and shells on the beach (their favorite vacation activity). I can't remeber everything, but that is the jist of the packs. They received them last week and they LOVED them!!!! Nothing cost much money - even the backpack's were only $4.99 at Walmart. So there was alot of bang for the buck. I tried to give them everything in "Their own colors" so there would not be any arguements. I tried to give them some little things that didn't weigh much or too much space. I also tried to put in a few things they would need and some little snacks too. Hopefully, this will make Mom & Dad's trip a little easier. They are soooo proud of their "travel bags" and they are soooooo excited for Mexico.

take advantage of end of summer sales and get each a bathing suit, sand toys, floaties, etc. Also, get glow sticks that are now out for halloween...all kids love glow in the dark stuff! Disneydirect has some really cute socks on sale for little girls ($5 for 2 pair with stuffed mickey heads on the heel)...check walmart and dollar general for disney lanyards, stickers, coloring books, bubbles...mickey mouse candy is sold everywhere....disposable waterproof cameras...my kids loved these the best! :cool1:

Thanks everyone for the great ideas. My DD is 10 and will want to keep a record of her trip so I have found some Dis scrapbooking stuff for when we get back. Love the glow stick idea. Also think I'll get her an autograph book.

Great ideas from everyone, keep 'em coming. :earsgirl: :cheer2:

i was at walmart yesterday and they had battery powered hand held toy that spins and lights up (i know they cost at least $10 at wdw) for $4.99 each.

if you are taking a portable dvd player then make a practice of checking the $1 and $5 bins at walmart (i've found several of the older disney titles).

check out the clearance racks-they have disney t-shirts (i get an adult's x-large for my dd (11) along with a laundry marker for autographs of friends she makes on the cruise-makes a great nightshirt or swim cover up).

does she like "hair prettys" (dd's phrase), how about some disney themed hair clips or barretts?

disposable-waterproof cameras, rub on tattoos (for pirate party), a fanny pack stuffed with travel size kid's toiletres (bath and body shop has a whole line of kids stuff in sample sizes-the detangler is the best i've found!), colored pencils (won't break as easily as crayons when traveling).

Last night I bought Disney pens for $.99 each. They were in the checkout aisle at Walmart. Regular pens with either Mickey, Minnie, Tink, Buzz or Woody on top, really cute. :wizard:

Thanks for all of these great ideas. I wish I could take advantage of the great prices you are finding... but we're in Canada. Although I still will check out Walmart. Too bad we don't have bath and body works here. I had already checked out their locations in Orlando and Port Canaveral to make a pit stop for some of my favorite things. Too late for stocking stuffers then though... but I think Walmart has some good trial size stuff.

another idea ... disney bandaids and water bottle

Definately their own cameras. My kids always loved being able to take their own pics while on vacation. Although on the cruise..one regular and one waterproof would be excellent. You can get the fuji regular ones at walmart in a two pack for less than $8. The kodak waterproof that they sell for like $27 on castaway cay is, if I remember correctly less than $8 at walmart also.

I appreciate the offer but I thought I would try the Disney Store in Toronto and keep my eye open for other bargains (Sears and Walmart etc always have deals. I'll leave the stateroom supplies as a surprise for her on the cruise. She will be thrilled to see they have mickey and minney on them. She always loves that part of staying hotels.

I hope you have a great cruise in November! :earsgirl:

for my girls - not cruise related per se- I have Disney Princess Pen sets, Princess panties, Princess Stickers, tattos, pretty much everytime I have seen Disney stuff I pick it up...It also is great to have a stockpile of small things that I can reward her with!

i would have suggested panties/briefs as well (a fine family tradition in stocking stuffers) but my kids remind me every christmas morning that they are the only people they know that "santa brings underwear to" :rotfl2:

I just picked up Nemo swim goggles, snorkles, and fins for my kids at Toys R Us. Regularly $20, but on sale for $8. I got 2 sets for our May 06 Magic cruise. Also, don't forget to bring bubbles and glow necklaces. Try the Dollar Store.

Santa always leaves some Disney Dollars for DH, DS and myself. DS loves to go to Guest Services and pay a 'deposit' on his account. Perfect gifts for grandparents to give too.
I love the idea of the disposable cameras though. Pictures through a kid's eyes are great.

for older cruisers they have eye mask and ear plugs at cvs as a pack in the travel section
