I just got back from 5 days at the PBH.

When I booked my reservation, I requested a smoking, club level room. I had explained how I had booked a smoking CL, last year at the HRH, and when we got there, we were told the entire hotel had gone to non-smoking. The person that took my reservation, said no problem and confirmed that I had a smoking CL room.

Well when we got to the hotel to check in, we were informed that there were no smoking rooms on the club level. I asked her to look at my reservation, and she said "Hmm, I see you have a smoking club room booked, but that is weird as there are no smoking rooms on the club level." Then she said if we wanted a smoking room she would give us one in the east wing, and give us the gold cards that access the club lounge. That was going to be too far of a walk with my cane and wheelchair, so we ended up getting a room on the second floor in the villa bldg, with a patio that we could smoke on. However we still had to pay full price for the club level room we had booked.

I really thought it was strange that the club lounge is on the 3rd floor, where the lobby is, and not on the 6th floor where the club level rooms are.

So they ask if we wanted the key to the mini-bar and we said "no thanks", then we asked if they could just empty it out and we were told that it would cost $75 to do that.

When we got to the room the mini-bar was not locked, and a lady came by to check it. We asked her to lock it, and the lock was broken, and we had to have maintenance come fix it.

Then I went out on the patio, and when I came back inside the door handle fell off completely into my hand. Maintenance came back and fixed it.

When we used the shower, the water leaked out into the bathroom and the hallway.

The cable on the tv kept going out.

We killed about 3 roaches in the room. I believe this was because the dead bolt to lock the patio door was broken, and the door kept opening by itself, even when the latch was flipped over.

We were never offered any upgrades or discounts for being "Loews Gold Members", we did get a bowl with 2 apples and an orange, as our welcome gift and free internet access.

The hotel was beautiful and the club concierge employees were nice and helpful, but, we will not be going back there.

I am glad that I had someone to help me with my wheelchair, because aside from the entrance to the hotel, I did not see one door that had a button on it for a handicapped person to open the door. It is a very "unfriendly to handicapped people" hotel.

There is no club level at PBH. There is a club lounge that can be accessed by anyone staying anywhere but paying the club access. We stayed in a suite in the West Wing when we had club.

Upgrades for gold level would have been given when you made your reservation with a suite upgrade made upon check-in if available. Since you had booked club, there would be no upgrade.

No excuse for the other things though.
