I went to a wedding in Nantucket this weekend and was an advertisement for badshoe.com. I am so stupid, I know better than to wear pretty sandals for long walks on cobblestone streets but...the pressure to look good in front of my cousins blurred my brain ;) :rotfl2:

If you notice my ticker down there I am leaving in a little under 2 weeks for my BWI visit :cool1: and I have two HUGE blisters on my left and right instep and one on the back of my ankle. Anyone know any good tricks? And does moleskin work if you apply it to already broken skin? I've always put it on the instant I had a hotspot at WDW. TIA for your help :flower:

Neosporin helps me.

You still have two weeks, so that is good! I'd also follow Dis'ers advice by bringing shoes to alternate in case one pair of your shoes rubs the same area where your blisters are healing.

Good luck!

I don't think I would apply moleskin to already broken skin. What you can do is apply mole skin, sticky side down to the part of your shoes that might touch your blisters. So sorry for your discomfort.

Rest your feet, hydrate yourself very well. I've learned that the lack of hydration can create blisters. So keep the water flowing!

Take different shoes. I took athletic shoes and flip flops and alternated them (of course I didn't choose the flip flops for day-long walking).

And I saw a woman putting the moleskin on the inside of her shoes instead of on her feet - you might try that.

Rest - Keep them Dry and Aired Out - Drink lots of water!!!

Have a blast going!!! Ely

Band-Aid brand makes a great blister bandage. If all else fails you could use one of these. They are cushioned, water resistant and can be applied to broken skin. I used one a month ago when I was golfing in the rain and my heal got a bad blister and it ripped. It healed in a matter of a couple days using the bandage.

Awesome advice. I didn't think about water. Duh!!! I am going to up my water intake and thankfully I had a physical scheduled for this afternoon too so hopefully my Dr. might have some insight too. Thank you all for your great tips.

I agree with mapmakerj. I've never used them, but those Band-Aid Blister Block bandages look like they would do a good job to help protect and heal your blister.

My daughter has been using the band aid blister bandages since her new soccer shoes gave her blisters..they work good but are expensive! Like 6 in a box for around $4-$4.99...you arent supposed to put moleskin on an open blister or even broken skin so as soon as hers heal we will put the moleskin to prevent more until the shoes break in better

Not only is good fitting shoes and extra shoes important. Changing shoes frequently at least rotating daily helps.

Socks good fitting socks that the toe seam does not rub toes smooth on inside helps as well I think.

The cool max socks helps as well. Gives the wetness a place to go rather than stayin next to the feet.

Lot of ppl have been using body glide or deodorant NOT antipersperant on feet as well. Which puts a slick coating on the feet so you don't get as many friction points on feet. Use between toes too.

Pampering feet as much as possible before going and while there helps too.

If you happen to have a pair of shoes that is a little big they might be useful at disney if feet start to swell in the heat which is often another foot problem.

Not a cure, but a prevention, we did use a spray on Deodorant/antipersperant this last trip (Dove, w/ silk, no less) and it worked GREAT for keeping our feet in good shape. (And they were softer too! LOL)
Really noticed a difference the day I didn't bother to do it.
