A little advice needed please

Hi there,

I really hope I'm posting this in the right place

My partner and I are looking to rent DVC for the first time, I'm fairly new to the DIS and she's been reading/posting here for a while but, since I'm the one who'll be dealing directly with the DVC arrangements I'm concerned it's going to be an issue for me having such a low post count. To make matters worse, when I signed up for my account, she had to change her user ID (for security purposes) which set her previously high post count back to a big fat zero.

Obviously, we want to be taken seriously, especially me as I'm going to be dealing with all aspects DVC for our trip and don't want to get off on the wrong foot.

Appreciate any help we can get with this. We would be willing to divulge her previous ID privately if need be, or are we worrying unnecessarily?

For me as a seller I don't think that I have ever looked at someone's post count. That doesn't tell me a thing about you other than you like to talk. I think for me that the thing that makes me the most comfortable with selling is having a contract that both parties sign.

Thanks Melissa, I guess because PM isn't available to new users from the off, I'm concerned about not being able to send or reply to them when we find someone who has points to sell...

Go onto the other boards of the DIS and just start responding to people's questions and comments so that you can get your numbers off. Just the word "thanks" gets you 1 more post count. I cannot remember how many posts you need to PM, but for some reason 30 rings in my head. I could be way wrong, but it doesn't take much.

If you see a sale that you want, just reply in the thread. Just because you can't PM doesn't mean you are out of the game. Respond to the Seller with your e-mail in the thread.

I wouldn't worry too much.
