I spend most of my time on the road with my job. I tend to always be in a rush, never enough time in a day etc.
Yesterday, I am going to work and there was a traffic jam/detour. Since I have an appointment, I was totally annoyed. I sit there for 15-20 minutes and then....a lifeflight helicopter comes into view.
For the next few hours, I feel disappointed with myself that I was worried about being a few minutes late when someone is in a critical situation.
Today, my friend calls me and informs me that the helicopter I witnessed was carrying a 9 year old boy that goes to my kids school. He lost his mom, his dad is in critical condition and they do not know if he will make it, his 5 year old sister is stable and he is in critical but stable condition with massive head injuries.
None were wearing their seatbelts.
Her family is from Puerto-rico and she just dropped her mom off at the airport to return home.
And I was worried about being late.....kind of makes you think of things different.
