A Letter from Mickey Mouse :)

I just created the letter that DS will get "from" Mickey Mouse on Saturday morning, and I thought I'd share, in case it helps someone else who may be looking for an idea for how to surprise their kids with DL. I can send you the word document if you want to edit it to suit your needs, or you can just look at the image of mine and make your own. Can't wait to see his face when he reads it!

Love it. Someone on a swap board was selling a new mickey mouse stuffed animal and I suggested someone buy it and do just what you did w/ a letter from Mickey.

Did you know you can download disney fonts? (Not sure if you did Mickey's signature in the font or if you just used an image.) you could download the font and have the whole letter in his writing.

I have the font I did try it with the whole letter in that font, but it was hard for ME to read it, so I know it would be really tough for HIM to read it. I figured this way it looks like Mickey typed it up and then signed it.

I love this! I'm still trying to come up with a clever way to let our 5 year old know that we're heading to Disney on Saturday evening. It was a very last minute decision so I don't have a lot of time to pull something extravagant together. I just might steal this idea.

A stuffed Mickey would be perfect with a letter like this. I have one for DS, too, but I'm saving it for while we're at DL

I love this! I'm still trying to come up with a clever way to let our 5 year old know that we're heading to Disney on Saturday evening. It was a very last minute decision so I don't have a lot of time to pull something extravagant together. I just might steal this idea.

If you want more ideas, here's what we're doing (if you don't, then just disregard the rest of this post LOL).

I have a package of balloons with Mickey and Friends on them, along with a big mylar Mickey head balloon that I'm getting filled with helium at Party City tomorrow night. Those balloons are going into a box with the letter from Mickey attached to one of the strings (probably the string from the big Mickey head), and stored in the car overnight so DS doesn't see. Saturday morning DH is going to sneak out to the car while I wake DS up early, bring the box to the doorstep, knock, and run around to the back to sneak back in. We'll let DS open the box, and the balloons will (hopefully) pop out. There will also be a few new travel toys, a new game for his Mobigo 2, a new travel pillow, some treats, etc. in the box for him to load into his backpack for the car, along with a new Disney shirt to wear that day.

We'll then get him dressed, load up the car (we're already mostly packed now, just a few more things to finish up tomorrow), and hit the road! So excited!!

That is PERFECT! And looks completely genuine... from the Mouse himself. Your son is going to be SO excited. ONE more day . So excited for you and wish I could be a bug on the wall when he gets it!

We decided we are going to wrap up a box with their fancy new luggage tags, Disney gift cards and Disney gate passes inside and just have it on the table for when they wake up in the morning. We'll be all solemn and on a card on the box we'll say "We're so sorry but we aren't going to Seattle today. We're hoping this gift will make up for it".

I'm fairly certain my kids will require extensive therapy for these tricks we play but it will all be worth it... (I think).

Maybe a stupid question.... but since I am new to this forum, and also have some Internet restrictions at work - how do I see this letter image you are talking about? Where do I go to see picture?

This would be a nice ide for my son too, so I would like to see how it looks like! Have fun!

Your kids are going to be SO excited when they open that box! I love the idea of telling them you're sorry that you can't go to Seattle, right before they find out they're going somewhere SO much better
