My DS9.5 (who is a great kid), lost his "State Championship" wind braker at the rink last night.
My DH was fuming mad...
My son cried, because he loves that jacket.
Personally, it has no value to anyone but my DS. It has his name and number embroidered on the jacket and is dated "MITE A Division I State Champs" written on the back of jacket. So, I think either Lost and Found picked it up or someone mistakenly thought it was theirs and will find out soon enough that they took my sons.
Here's what I want to do: Wait a few days for someone to tell us that they took it (mistakenly). If it does not reappear, I was going to call the company that imprinted them and ask them to make another one for DS.
I thought that I should try to teach my son to keep track of his stuff, so I was going to implement a "payback" situation.
Write a list of chores that have a value to them and he can "work off" the cost of the jacket, if I even need to buy another. (I was thinking: $15/straightening garage, $2 setting table, $2 taking out garbage, $5 for doing laundry, $1 for feeding dogs, etc.)
What do you think?
