Just made a reservation for Shulas Steak House at the Dolphin hotel for sunday sept 21. At the end of the call the lady said it was going to be a la carte menu. Now I'm confused. I've been looking at the menu and was going to try the 48oz steak (I'm a pig, i know!!) but if there is going to be a la carte menu does that mean we can't order steaks? Does anyone know if they just do a la carte on specific days, or if they do a la carte but you can still order from a menu? And if it is only a la carte can i cancel the reservation when we arrive at disney, 8 days earlier?

Al a carte just means that your steak doesn't come with a side item, you have to purchase each item individually. If you want a potato, you have to order and pay for a potato seperately.

Ala Carte just means that you have to pay for and order every item individually. So if you want a baked potato or vegtable with your steak you have to order it and pay for it.

I am not familiar with Shulas, but some restaurants have "specials" in that one price includes an appetizer, entree and dessert. Maybe Shulas did something like that in the past.

I don't think saying that the menu is ala carte means the items you can order has changed - it just means nothing is for free.

If you want to doulbe check, I would just call the restaurant and see if the 48oz steak is still on the menu.

I don't think you have anything to worry about - any with a 48oz steak, what else could you eat anyway!
