:cool1: Mickey Mail is always so much fun to get!

Just a little over a month left to go!!!

I love Mickey mail! Time has really been flying by. Although I feel like these last 30 days will go by a lot more slowly since I will be done with school. I won't have anything to keep me occupied :rotfl:

First off, did anyone watch the royal wedding? Now THAT is what I call a fairytale. :worship: Absolutely everything was perfect.

On to the Disney news...

Today I finalized my cake order for our first night dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse. It will still be a surprise to DBF :thumbsup2. I decided to go with the mini wedding cake.

miniweddingcake.jpg

I was given the option of either yellow or chocolate cake and either chocolate, white chocolate, or vanilla buttercream. I went with the yellow cake and vanilla buttercream. It is plain but one of our favorites combos. Also it will say "Have A Magical Vacation!" Since we will be just beginning our trip. The price was $25 :thumbsup2 and I had to use my credit card to place the order but it won't be charged until the cake is delivered.

The Yacht Club Dining Staff was so helpful. I can't wait to eat cake in disney. 34 days!

I watched the Royal Wedding, and I felt so mushy during it! I kept going, "She's in a real-life fairytale!":rotfl:

That cake sounds so good!!! And it's so nice that it'll have a warm welcoming written on it. And, honestly, I would've thought the cake would have cost a little more. As much as I love Disney, they do love to hike up the prices on stuff, especially little extras like surprise cakes.

It's great that you decided to order it, though. Now, to just not tell your DBF! :lmao:

I watched the fairytale wedding - how great was it!! There were soo many highlights.

Yay on ordering the mini wedding cake - sounds delish!

I know! The Royal Wedding was amazing. I just kept thinking, "I want to be a princess" :lmao:
I was happy that disney offered some cakes on the cheaper side. It's a really small cake though, but its just enough. :thumbsup2

Yes, the wedding was perfect. Kate must have been soooo nervous.

And I'm very excited about trying the cake now. I hear they're delicious.

I just received our reservation package in the mail! It came with our info and all of the coupons and offers in one booklet. And I love the new 3D luggage tags :thumbsup2

IMG00034-20110502-1449.jpg

Tomorrow I'll have my top 5 disney movies and our countdown calendar!

I love the 3D tags, as well! Disney mispelled my name on the reservations, so they sent DF and I another packet, meaning we got an extra two luggage tags. :thumbsup2 I was pretty excited about having some spare ones to keep as souvenirs.

Can't wait to see your movie list!

Hi everyone! Today it is officially 30 days until my Disney Trip :cool1: It is also my last day of finals :banana: Now I can be done with school and concentrate on more important things like my disney vacation :lmao: So, I wanted to share the countdown calendar I made.

I got all of the mickey heads from the home depot paint chips. I love that there is a giant mickey on my bedroom wall. :rotfl:

And now for my Top 5 Disney movies. I limited this to only animated films. These were so hard to pick.

5. Mulan
Mulan-1.jpg

In my opinion Mulan is hilarious. No matter how many times I watch it, it's still funny. Plus I love the story line of a girl going to prove that she can do what a guy can do, and do it well at that. Great movie.

4. The Little Mermaid
TheLittleMermaid.jpg

I don't know why I love this movie. I just do.:rotfl: I love the music. Plus I love Ariel's rebelliousness.

3. The Jungle Book
TheJungleBook.jpg

I used to watch this movie with my dad all the time when I was little and we would sing the Bare necessities song together. So its my favorite for sentimental reasons. :) But it is a great movie. I just recently forced DBF to watch it with me  but suprisingly he said it said it was "actually good" :rotfl:

2. Pocahontas
Pocahontas-1.jpg

I've always loved Pocahontas. I had a Pocahontas themed bedroom when I was little. Clearly I tend to lean towards the movies with some kind of rebellious main character. :rotfl: But I think it's a great love story and again this movie has some of my favorite songs.

1. The Lion King
TheLionKing.jpg

Nothing can beat The Lion King. This movie has the best music! And it breaks my heart every time I see the part where Mufasa dies. You basically feel every emotion when watching this movie. There's love, death, friendship, there's everything. I love it.

I will have to say that my honorable mention goes to Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin. I can't leave those two out. :goodvibes

Thats great about the extra luggage tags. I love free disney souvenirs. Your next trip is coming up! How is your training going for the 5k?

I was doing really well with my training until some HUGE school assignments and semester finals came around. Then I was rushing back and forth from the library to group meetings to classes, and I lost some momentum. However, my goal for this 5K is to just finish within the time limit, and at this point I know I am keeping the required pace.
I still wish I had two extra weeks to train, though. :confused3

Your Disney movie choices are great! It's so difficult to narrow the choices down to 5. I totally agree that Lion King is the # 1 Disney movie. :thumbsup2:lmao: I understand what you mean about how well the story captures emotion.
I remember watching the movie in one of my 8th grade classes and getting a hall pass right before Mufasa's death scene, because I didn't wanna risk tearing up in class. :rotfl:

Pocahontas is an awesome runner-up!

It's been so long since I've seen The Jungle Book, and seeing that it's number 3 on your list, I'm going to have watch that over again, because I can barely remember it.

Your countdown is really cool! I like how the Mickey heads are in a spiral, and the color combinations are nice.

Wow...sorry this post is really long; I didn't mean to make you read a five minute reply. :rotfl:

I love the countdown calendar and wow on doing a top 5 movie list! Lion King has to be number one - it is awesome and soo emotional! :thumbsup2

I used to watch Jungle Book all the time when I was younger and it is such a feel good movie to which you have to sing along. I have not seen Pocahontas or Mulan - will have to add them to my list.

I definitely understand about the school work. Those professors try to kill us. :sad2: But i'm sure you will do great on your 5k!

The luggage tags are really nice. DBF was staring at them for 5 minutes trying to look at them from the best angle :lmao: And i definitely recommend Pocahontas and Mulan. They are such good movies!

I love the countdown calender especially since it is very similar to mine, unfortunately, mine only lasted about 2 hours because my little one can not stop touching things and ohh the lion king!!! you are so right nothing beats it! i loved it i remember going to see it in the movies and it was so popular that bought it back after it left but at the same time it is hard to not mention others such as beauty and the beast! I love that movie too!!!

That's too bad about your calendar. Your son must have been ready to go! And it was SO hard choosing my top 5 movies. I had to at least mention beauty and the beast. I'm sure if I did it again my list would change.

Hi All,

Sorry for the delay between posts. I hope I still have some readers. I was sick last week with some sort of cold/sinus thing and wasn't feeling to well, and then for the past week I've had to help with the preparation for graduation and then work the actual graduation which consisted of around 2000 people. :scared1: So I have had zero time to devote to the DIS :sad2: But I am finally free and now I need to get back to my next top 5 topic.

My Top 5 Ways to Beat the Heat

5. Have a nice cold drink/frozen snack
mickeyicecreambar.jpg

A cold drink or snack will be sure to cool you off for at least a moment. Not to mention that its a yummy way to cool down as well. :thumbsup2

4. Mister Fans
misterfans.jpg

Mister fans are great when you are standing still in a long line. The Disney ones seem large to me and pretty annoying to carry around. I got a small handheld one from walmart a couple years ago and it works great.

3. Try to save most of the indoor/air conditioned attractions for the hottest part of the day

If you plan on staying at the parks all day, I recommend trying to do most of the outdoor attractions at the beginning or end of the day. That way, when it is super hot outside you can take comfort in the air condition of the indoor attractions :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

2. Take a break in the middle of the day for a swim
resortpool.jpg

Taking a break during the hottest part of the day is a great way to beat the heat. You could take a nap in your room or go for a swim. It's a good way to get recharged so you can go back to the park feeling refreshed.

1.Drink Plenty of water
bottledwater.jpg

Drinking water is key to staying hydrated and feeling good in the hot Florida Sun. I always freeze my bottle of water and then take it to the park with me so it can help keep me cool and I can drink it.

Just a little over 2 weeks left to go for my trip! That means only two more of my Disney Top 5's left. NEXT UP: My Top 5 Disney Villains

My Top 5 Ways to Beat the Heat
Glad your feeling better and Congrats on the graduation!!!

Love your "top 5" 's!!! :thumbsup2

I'm sorry you were sick, especially since it sounds like you had a lot on your plate.

Your top 5 tips on staying cool sound good. Going back to the resort midday is one of the smartest things you can do. I saw a lot of families that were burned out and miserable in the evenings. They kept complaining, "It's so hot here, I just wanna call it quits for the night."

The freezing the water bottle is also a really helpful tip. There's nothing better than drinking a nice cold bottle of water when it's ridiculously hot.

Your trip is getting closer!!!! I bet May is going by so slowly for you.
