10/30 Continued…Made A Big Mistake!
We found the Mickey Mouse pumpkin over by Test Track as we made our way through World Discovery.
We walked back to France for our dinner reservation at one of our favorite Epcot restaurants, Le Creperie. We always share the Prix Fixe meal and add a salad (or soup) and soda. It’s more than enough food for us.
These salads are huge and I love the dressing. There’s not a lot to it, mostly greens and tomatoes but it’s very good.
We shared the ratatouille galette (Tomato, Zucchini, Eggplant) which we’ve tried before.
We both really enjoyed this again. The galette is made out of buckwheat which gives it a nice nutty flavor. That being said, if you don’t like buckwheat you won’t like this. We like the Savoyarde galette as well (Raclette Cheese, Caramelized Onions, Bacon, Imported Bayonne Ham) and tend to alternate ordering it. Can’t wait for that next time!
For dessert we shared the Poire (Pear, Chocolate Ganache, Whipped Cream) crepe.
This is our favorite crepe! I never would’ve ordered it because I’m not usually a fan of pears but our oldest son ordered it back in the spring and let us taste it. It’s so good! The pears have the perfect texture, not too hard and not too mushy. We’ve tried the Pomme (Caramelized Apples, Caramel Beurre Salé), Gourmande (Hazelnut-Chocolate Spread, Whipped Cream), and Melba (Peach, Red Berries Sauce, Almonds). My favorite is the Poire and probably my least favorite (but still good) is the Melba.
We once again really enjoyed our meal and had excellent service. We gave our meal an A-. Quite surprisingly the restaurant was empty during the dinner hour. The entire time we ate there were only two other full tables. I don’t know if this restaurant will last long if it doesn’t get more guests. It was a nice quiet meal for us though and a place we will return to again, probably on our trip this spring. It gets an A- because it's a very good meal and one we will return to but not a "must-do" every time.
After our meal we headed back to “Future World” stopping by Disney Traders to find the Daisy pumpkin.
We found the Figment pumpkin in the Imagination Pavilion.
Since we were already there, we rode Journey into Imagination with no wait.
We headed into the Creations shop to find the Goofy pumpkin.
Our final pumpkin was listed as being located in the Green Landing Play Zone. We searched for quite a while and it felt weird to be two adults wandering around a play area where kids were all playing. Eventually, across from the play area, we found Wall-E and Eva.
So cute! We really loved the creativity of all of Pluto’s pumpkins! It was definitely a fun scavenger hunt.
With our pumpkin scavenger hunt complete, we headed to Test Track to use our recovery
Lightning Lane that we had been awarded earlier when Test Track was down. The whole reason I bought LLs for this day was to be able to experience the latest version of Test Track. Well, as we were making our way there I discovered my recovery LL was gone! It turned out when I was booking my Soarin’ LL I neglected to confirm it and so when I entered the line, it had used my recovery LL instead for Soarin’ and there were no regular LLs left for Test Track for me to grab. Ugh! I visited a Blue Umbrella Cast Member though and explained the situation. He was able to fix it and reinstate my recovery LL so I could use it for Test Track.
We both really enjoyed the new version of Test Track and thought it was really well done. Our favorite will always be the original Test Dummies version but this one is a huge improvement over the last version.
We walked around admiring the beautiful lighting. It’s so much darker this time of year so the lights really stand out.
We decided to experience the Journey of Water to see everything lit up at night. It was so beautiful! I couldn’t really capture it on my phone but I got this cool picture.
We’re not fans of the Luminous Show so we headed back to our hotel after the Journey of Water. Overall we had a fun day trying a few Food & Wine items, looking for Remy and Pluto’s pumpkins and riding rides. Despite our best efforts we didn’t complete the Remy Scavenger Hunt. We just couldn’t find the one in the America Pavilion. Luckily we planned on coming back another time and hoped to find the last elusive Remy and try even more Food & Wine food!
With all the back tracking for LLs and scavenger hunting, my total step count was 33,170 steps! (12.76 miles)
