Everyone I met at American was extremely welcoming, and the program I'm entering into it felt like they were very much a family I'm so glad I'm going there!

If you recognize me, feel free to say hi! :wave2: Just tell me you commented on my pre-trip report and you're the one who needs a dole whip!

Traveling changes... :drive:
So some big news, Kenny was invited to visit the training center for homeland security in Georgia for a job, as it is part of their hiring process, since you would live there for 6 months while being paid and trained. This is absolutely great news because Kenny would use his degree in criminology and his IT certifications.. now the bad news is/was that the only dates to visit for the upcoming hiring process are May 17th, 18th, 24th, 25th, and 26th.

After much discussion between him, his parents, and me, it was decided he would attend on the 17th. So what happens now is he is DRIVING to Georgia and then to Disney (the center is only 3 hours away from Orlando). He leaves tomorrow at 7am. We canceled our flights. Rebooked me. I fly out to Orlando at 6:15am from BWI - by myself! :sad1:

So now on Monday night I drive to his house to pick up my DME tags and my boarding pass (he purchased EBCI so he'll be able to print it off for me), then I'll be staying at a Double Tree by the airport so I don't have to wake up *as* early as if I stayed at his parents. :coffee:

Which also means our whole idea of going to the Orlando Eye is gone, because he'll try and meet me at the Poly by 3pm. We also have a reservation at Raglan Road for 6:15pm, which I canceled with Disney (just in case he doesn't make it to me in time) and rebooked using opentable.

I will also be flying back alone, and he'll drive home. Any tips on flying alone? I've never done it before! Thankfully he'll be the one to drop me off at MCO when I fly out of Orlando, but I'm 100% by myself at BWI!

Oh noooo! I mean congrats to Kenny! But I'm sorry it interfered with your trip!!!!! I flew alone for the first time in April 2014 then again that August, both times to visit my sis in Jacksonville, Florida! It wasn't as bad as I thought! The first time I was terrified. Not only was I flying out of Logan (Boston), which is always crazy busy, but I was recovering from a massive ear infection and I had a perforated ear drum so there was literally a hole in my ear and I was on all sorts of antibiotics. Plus I had bronchitis. I get tons of pain/pressure in my left ear when flying. My head feels like it's going to explode and to this day it's a problem. Anyway, my left ear is the ear with the infection..so I was scared. Probably should have cancelled but it was only a 3 night trip. Anyways, turns out the hole in my ear drum let the pressure out so I was pain free! I also fell asleep on the man's shoulder next to me, which was embarrassing but hilarious looking back!

I've never sat next to someone who made me uncomfortable either so that's a plus! Definitely just bring headphones and a book so you don't have to be stuck talking to someone next to you if you don't wanna!

Best of luck girl!!!

It's almost Disney time! Enjoy!

Thats for the advice! The whole ear infection thing would have probably scared the crap out me too!

I actually got my boarding number today and with EBCI I got A30. I thought I'd so much farther down the list! So either my plane isn't very full, or no one else chose to use EBCI.

I know you already on your trip, but I hope Kenny had a great visit for his potential job and your trip is amazing!

I hope you have a wonderful time on your trip and that all your travel flights went well!pixiedust:

Thank you! My flights, went great, no problems to be had!

Have the most magical time! (I got back a few days ago and already missing it :sad1:)
Also congrats to Kenny.

I miss it too, and I just got home! It's hard to not miss the most magical place on earth.

I know you already on your trip, but I hope Kenny had a great visit for his potential job and your trip is amazing!

Thank you!

Hey everyone! I'm back (and back in PA, Kenny is overnighting it in NC before finishing the drive tomorrow morning)! I'll start my trip report soon - however, I brought home a souvenir I could have really done without - a head cold! :scared:   :faint: Thankfully it didn't become full on until this morning.

and since I flew my ears are all messed up, and it hurt so much because I was so congested during landing! I guess the only good thing about it is that it made me want to leave Disney so I could just come be sick at home, haha. :rotfl2:
