A grammar question

I'm making invitations for my twins' first birthday party (yes -- 4 months in advance... but I wanted to do a test run to see if it was something I'd be able to make myself or if I should just order some) & I'm having a problem figuring out the proper wording. Any grammar experts?? Is it...

"It's Abby's & Zoe's first birthday"

OR

"It's Abby & Zoe's first birthday"

OR

"It's Abby's & Zoe's first birthdays"

Since the birthday is something they own jointly, the possessive goes at the end: "It's Abby & Zoe's first birthday"

I'm a little bit overdramatic with protecting and encouraging their individuality so I was initially leaning towards Abby's and Zoe's because it (to me) seems to indicate they both "own" the birthday/party individually instead of jointly. But who knows if that is actually a correct assumption and I don't want my wacky obsession with individuality get in the way of proper grammar!

In their actual invite I have 1st instead of first and birthday is capitalized because yes, you're right.

Do you do scrapbook/crafted invites or digitally designed ones?? I've been doing DD1's invites digitally (and then having them printed) since her first birthday but I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to work it out with the twins' invite this year... I couldn't find an image that coordinated with their party decorations (hippos! ) so I just grabbed a large image of the dinner plate I'm ordering. So I wasn't too sure whether I'd be able to get the image edited to the point where it would look decent on an invite... or if the quality would be good enough. But it turned out to work out SO well (and easy!) and I'm loving how the invites turned out.

I've done both. I tend to prefer doing scrapbook/crafted ones because I can add a dimensional look to them. The last ones I did were for a friend who was doing a Breakfast at Tiffany's themed party for her daughter and I did a combination of a papercrafts and digital. The invite looked like a Tiffany's box with the white ribbon and when you opened up the inside the background was Audrey Hepburn with the details written over it.

Hippos - that's so cute! Would love to see the invites if you want to share them. I always have either made DS's (in the traditional scrappy way) or the last couple of years I had a lady I found on Etsy do them digitally for me. This year I did my own thru Shutterfly are my favorite ones so far... could be the fact that DS's picture is on this one

Oh, I am nowhere near talented enough to do papercrafting! I've attempted in the past... and have attempted scrapbooking too and it all just turns out very underwhelming. Like a 5yo did it, lol.

I actually caved and had a lady on etsy do DD1's invites this past year. Her birthday is New Year's Eve and I was just too overwhelmed & exhausted with her infant twin sisters and Christmas that I just couldn't get it together.

Here's the baby's invite... there's probably still some tweaking to do but I've got roughly 4 months for that.

You put more effort into this than I would have. Personally, I would have gone back and forth between "Abby's and Zoe's" and "Abby and Zoe's" before just changing it completely to "Abby and Zoey are turning one!"

No, it's not grammatically incorrect. It's a choice of style. If you want the invitation to reflect the individuality of the child, each child gets the possessive form. This is a rare occasion when both could be appropriate.
