A Good Realtor in Saratoga County NY?

Okay, we are moving !! Now we need a realtor . I have to sell our house (that won't be a problem because there is a serious housing shortage in this area) and close on a our new house by Sept. so DD can start school on time. Can it be done? Does anyone know any good realtors? Our last realtor was a real slime ball so we are kind of nervous. Thanks in advance !!

I work in Real Estate Relocation and this is one of the companies that belongs to a group of realtors nationwide called RELO. The company I work for is also part of the group. I'd call and ask to speak with the office manager and explain your situation with your last realtor, the more information they have the better they can serve you.

Do you know where you want to live? Have you visited the area? It is so spread out that you may need to locate a town first then find a realtor. I am kinda assuming you will be looking in the Saratoga/Ballston Spa area? If so, there are so many choices from Glens Falls to Clifton Park that available. When we moved to that area 16 years (yikes ) ago we rented first, and then took several months to find a house. That worked out really, really well. We did not feel so rushed that way. Would that be possible for you?

Guess you are already used to the cold. I never could get used to it....brrrrr.

Welcome to the neighborhood, but gosh, we have not delt with a realtor in 13+ years so do not have a name for you. Our last 2 homes we sold them ourselves, but we do not have one available now. If you are going to move to New York, Saratoga County is the county to move to. If you want the Shen school district, look at the southern end of the Town of Malta. It's a little less hectic than Clifton Park.

I have a realtor and we are going to check out some houses on Saturday Hopefully we will get lucky! One more question though, For you guys in Saratoga county what's the Niskayuna school district like? I asked our realtor for houses in the Shen and Burnt hills school district but when she called back she said in addition to Shen and BH she had a few in Niskayuna. I wouldn't want to end up in a not so great school district. I know it depends on the child just as much as the school but I really would like the "best" in the area Thanks so much!!

Well. I am biased, but No. Colonie is the BEST .... I have also heard good things about Ballston Spa, but there are a lot of great schools in the area, it would be hard to go wrong there.

Our kids go to the Ballston Spa district and we really like it. One of our neighbors is a teacher in the Niskayuna district (which is in Schenectady County) but the Rexford area of Clifton Park sends the kids there. You do not want to live in Schenectady County (ducking). Her husband teaches at the Ballston Spa High School and their kids go to Ballston Spa. We also have other neighbors who teach at Shen, but their kids go to Ballston Spa too.

We went today and found a great house in Waterford. (Shen) We made and offer and will find out on Monday if they will accept but they did have multiple offers so we'll have to keep our fingers crossed that ours is the best and try not to go crazy before Monday!! Thanks for all the input! It is such a great area we really can't wait to move!!

Good luck on the house! If for any reason it falls through I wanted to let you know that Niskayuna is a great school district! I live in Alplaus, which is part of Glenville near Rexford (Oh No, Schenectady County! ). I also student taught at Ballston Spa and really felt that the elementary school I was in was warm and very child focused (this was several years ago).
