A Girl Like Me -- Song question

This is going to be a long, long shot ...

Did anyone watch the Lifetime movie "A Girl Like Me"? At the beginning of the movie, they played a song that had the lyrics "Stars in the sky, you know how I feel. River running free, you know how I feel."

Does anyone know where that song comes from and who sings it? I find it haunting and I'd love to hear more of that artist's work.

I swear I couldn't find this the other day ...

The song is called "Feeling Good." I traced it back to Nina Simone. I'm not sure if that's her voice, though. I'm sure I'll find a sound sample somewhere.
