A Gift for a Baby

A very dear friend is having a baby in just a few weeks, about a month before we go to Disney. I'd like to get the baby something while we're at Disney. Something that isn't specifically for a baby, that if he wants to he can hang on to it for a while.

I was thinking maybe an ear hat, I know they make them for kids, so he could grow into it. But I am concerned that you know, getting your kid their own ear hat is sort of special thing, I don't want to steal a future moment. I also thought maybe I'd get him a small figure to put on a shelf for decorating the nursery. No, not terribly fun, but he might like it later. Any thoughts? I've been to Disney a lot, but I've never been big on souvenirs.

What about a Christmas ornament (if the family celebrates)? I know mine from when I was growing up are very special to me. They were always on my parents' tree of course, and now when I put them on my own tree, I always think about who gave them to me, the significance, etc.

ITA. I'd do a (Name)'s First Christmas personalized ornament. :) Just make sure of the spelling of baby's name. :goodvibes

Thank you all very much. I'm supposed to see the new little guy's nursery soon, maybe it will inspire me. I know it will be all animals, so maybe something in Animal Kingdom or one other great suggestions, or both.

Mickey eas with the babies name on them are perfect! I've seen this given many times in fact my cousins each got one when they were born and they keep them on a shelf in their room among other special things.

When I was pregnant with my son and went to WDW I wanted to get him something that he could keep for a long time, something special for his room. We ended up getting him the Disney Precious Moments figure of Baloo hugging a little boy. I know you can get these elsewhere but the fact that we bought it on Main Street, USA was special. And it would go great in a nursery with animals. Although it may be pricier than you're looking for.

This is baby specific:

When several coworkers and friends had babies, I bought a "My First Mickey Mouse t-shirt" at WoD store.
