Just got home, he ate a pack of 30 mini hot glue sticks...he also had seizures but I'm not sure if it's related. He's epileptic and has seemed kind of off the last couple days anyway so not surprising. Called the vet, he said to induce vomiting, but that they were prob already ingested and there was not anything harmful.

Anyone else have any experience with this? What happens when 10' of glue stick goes through a husky????

Ugh. If it's not one thing it's another.

If it's anything like when my dog ate a tootsie pop stick, it won't come out by itself. You might have to get gloves...

I hope you're dog is okay though!

It will probably just come out the other end. It's not hot enough inside to actually melt!

I have a garbage disposal dog too. He is deaf and blind but still manages to get into every possible mess imaginable. His sense of smell is way too good!

This sounds like my Golden Retriever who is currently whimpering that I am not showing her enough attention.

That's why I have cats! :rotfl: Although they can be little stinkers too. :goodvibes

I left the lid off a box of fudge, and when I came back one of the cats had finished off the candy. I know cats aren't supposed to have chocolate, and she did throw it up- what a mess! :(

I hope the pup is OK, let us know, OK?

Yep, sounds like something my lovable monsters would do!!

Oh, you want to talk cats???? My cats are not allowed in the attic, period. Unfortunately the kids occasionally go up there and don't latch the door. The cats ALWAYS find this out!!!!! Cat radar you know. Beings they aren't allowed up there, that is where they want to go. One of them found a bag of Easter grass, you know, the kind that goes in Easter baskets. The way I found out was one day I saw this "thing" sticking out of the one's rearend. I donned rubber gloves and gently pulled. YUCK :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2: !!!! That's when I discovered what they got into. I was not happy, this is dangerous for a pet to eat. If I could have just discovered which of my 4 kids did this, I would have put it back with their bag of Easter grass :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: . Just kidding!!!!!

My Golden ate a jumbo Carmex lid when she was around one. Of course this happened two days before we were supposed to leave for a cruise.

They tried scoping her and when that didn't work, they had to surgically remove it. To the tune of $1,000.

Yeah, that was fun to pay for, right before a cruise.

Then, while we were gone, a wasp stung her on her tongue. Back to the vet!

I forgot to mention, that when my Golden ate the Carmex lid, the vet suggested that I give her Metamucil, to um, get things moving along.

That was fun too. Have you ever seen what that does? It's not pretty.

I'm hoping things just "pass" with little fanfare. They must have tasted good at least since he ate every last little piece.

Big hairy brat. ;)

I never thought I say this but... I'm so happy my dog is a picky eater!

We have always had golden retrievers and black labs- although we have one golden pup (8 months) and a rescue coon hound right now. Our list of "bad" ingestions over the years is endless....

Just this Monday the pup ate 25 foil covered chocolate balls- they definitely passed, including the foil.

We have also had:
an entire box (cellophane, cardboard and all) of Lady Godiva chocolates (only side effect- house clearing passing of gas from the lab- boy was I mad as the candy was a special gift).
too many socks to count
little green army men (they passed whole, but we gave them a good burial anyway)
Mickey Mouse (a little figurine)
Buzz light year (hey, its a disney theme!)
puzzle pieces- cardboard and plastic
my entire set of Easter music one hour before I had to leave to sing at Mass
barbie heads and feet (only the heads and feet?)
pickles
an entire onion (that WAS bad!)
entire pizzas
loaves of bread
bags of bagels (the dogs are into carbs)
chicken bones
the remote control is currently missing one corner- not sure which dog did it
the cordless phone is missing its antenna- lowered reception, but still works
calculators (just two cheapies, thank goodness)
The Because of Winn Dixie DVD
The sims CD that I really hated (NO- I didn't leave it in the dog's reach)
homework (really!)
the tongue off my oldest DD's riding boots
an entire tube of vaseline
a chewed bottle of tylenol (THAT Was expensive)
marbles
screws
barbie doll clothes
entire boxes of kleenex and rolls of toilet paper/paper towels
clean underwear (at least it wasn't dirty!)
A tomato soap can out of the garbage that got stuck on our dearly departed Golden's tongue and required 10 stitches

and the infamous ivory soap incident-- my now DD17 came down the stairs when she was 4 and told me that our dear Butchie (God rest his soul) was bubbling- by george, every time he burped he burped bubbles!

That's all I can remember right now...want to talk about what the cats and horses have eaten?

At least life is always an adventure around here! No wonder our new golden's registered name is Seamonus Dougans- get it- Shame on us Dougans for getting another dog!!!!

Is this the same dog that ate the red pen and turned pink :teeth:

My sheltie once got into a box of paintballs and got very sick! The paintballs caused a salt poisoning in him. He was at the vets for 3 days hooked to an IV but he pulled through it. DS learned a very big lesson that day - to keep the paintballs put up high so that the dog won't get them.
