A funny thing happened on the way to rope drop . . .

Showed up at DCA this morning around 9:40, walked over to the rope drop near LMAUA, and realized there was no rope on the bridge! Looking across the bay we could see that there was already a line at TSMM. We decided to go on LMAUA instead and wait for the other rope to drop (the one on the walkway that heads down toward Golden Zephyr, etc.) Went on LMAUA and when we came out (about 10 minutes later) there was now a rope at the bridge! How disappointed those people must have been when they thought they were first in line at rope drop only to find a 45 minute line at TSMM already. I wonder what that was all about . . .
