A fun question for the OKWers from the early days

We have stayed at OKW, BWV, HH and now own at VB. We loved the BWV for the easy access to the parks and the room service. We take handicapped people most of the time and it is nice to leave them to go out and they can have room service. We went to HH for the location and to VB for the ocean. Every resort has its own special place in our hearts. OKW is great for the GV and point cost. We will probably always stay at OKW if we want a GV and maybe BWV if we want a 2 bedroom.

We've been DVC members since 1993. All of our WDW stays have been at our home away from home, OKW. We love OKW and we love the fact that it is quiet and beautiful and away from all the hustle and bustle. We've been to VB for a couple of days and enjoyed it and will probably go back. Since the passes have run out, we've also used points for the Disney Cruise, trips to NY, etc. All that said, OKW is home to us and will be for a lot more years.

We love OKW! But we have equally enjoyed stays at BWV, VWL and, most recently, BCV (not to mention VB!). We joined OKW in '95 with a bit of hesitancy because I thought we would miss the theming at the many WDW resorts. I never expected that the variety of theming would continue with so many DVC resorts to pick from! Our next visit in August is BWV. Looking forward to Saratoga Springs and Eagle Pines DVC's.........

We became menbers in 1994 and have not stayed anywhere but OKW. We look at the other resorts each trip but we always come back to OKW. When we took the tour in 94 out guide told us " Visit the other resorts whenever you are in WDW but always come home to OKW" and we have always remembered his advice. I think we will always stay at OKW.

We've owned since 1991 and have never used our points to stay anywhere except OKW. When we pay cash we stay at one of Disney deluxe resorts. We like the monorail, although AKL is one of our favs. We have stayed at Vero, on cash, also.

sgtpet, you mentioned possibly trying WLV. We did that just this past March. I can tell you that while we loved the hotel lobby and loved the WLV lobby just as much, the rooms were just too dark for us. We had a fun time and would stay at WLV if that were the only thing available for us when we needed to go, but we now know that we are more "tropical style" people. Guess that is why OKW and BCV suit us better. If you do decide to try another resort, I would say try for BCV, it might be more to your taste.

We joned in 91 and have made over 40 trips between us and our children. We have never stayed at another DVC, we find OKW to be so peaceful and layed back that is it just what we need for a break from living up in the northeast! There is nothing more relaxing then sitting on the balcony and having a glass of wine while watching the boats on Trumbo canal. We have points at the BCV but have heard so many negative things about staying there that we have decided to keep staying at OKW. Maybe someday we will reserve at the BCV but right now I am not interested.

I wasnt sure what kind of responses I would get, but it seems like a recurring theme here. I cant wait to try out OKW someday!
