A freindly face

We visit from the UK every year, there used to be an elderly gentleman who worked on the gates at Universal, he has been there for so many years - I understand that he is now retired, he was such a pleasant happy guy, sorry but if anybody knows who I mean could you tell me his name please?

His name is Dick and he was 92 when he retired a few weeks ago. He worked there for 16 years and was a chiroprator before that.

Wow, that is amazing. And to think you remembered him Johnny - he must have made a great impression.

Perhaps a job at Universal would keep me living longer!

He was brilliant, always smiling and a great person to meet.
I would love to have given him a retirement present, it's a shame I cannot do that now.

I should have given him something last year, I will miss seeing him this coming August when we return.

I will miss him too. I know that much is made of how lovely the Cast Members at Disney are but I can honestly say (and we were discussing this on the UK boards earlier) I have never had a bad experience at Universal. Everyone I have met there has been friendly and polite. Dick was such a lovely man, he always had a smile and a friendly word for everyone. If you are still in touch with him Bev, please let him know how much he will be missed
