Hubby just dropped a bomb...He just found out he has to take 35 hours vacation time before the end of September or he losses it.

What to do...... what to do...... <snicker>

Soooooo we are going to head to the World, spend a night or two at AKL then switching over to BCV for 3 or 4 nights......

What's the first I refered to in the title you ask???

We are not going to do any parks. :earseek:

The plan, so to speak, is to just enjoy AKL, roaming around there, doing the pool, watching the animals, exploring the resort. Then Switching over to BCV for SAB, Cape May, and walking the Boardwalk.

Slow, easy, nothing planned (well maybe a PS or two at Chef Mickeys and the Poly) just hanging out.

The reason....... we want to go somewhere, and hang, but the thought of attempting to do that in a regular hotel room is down right scary. Esp since baby Charlie is still such a baby (he will be almost 5 months old on this trip). We have been spoiled with the two bedroom villas!

Anyone else ever head to the World just to hang out???

The only hic-cup will be telling the girls (4 and almost 3) that we wont be going on any rides.... but we will just explain that Charlie is too little this trip, but he will be old enough when we go in Feburay. That and the doing Chef Mickey's and a couple of other CM's should suffice. (I hope I hope!)

Wow...... off to plan....

I LOVE 2 Bedroom Villas! I LOVE DVC!

My wife and I did 3 days last Christmas week, but we left our son at mil's. We stayed at BWV, enjoyed the boardwalk, played golf and took in Pleasure Island. It was hard not going into the parks, but it can be done (forget cruelty to children- try cruelty to me)

It's funny you about the "use it or loose it" vacation time, as my wife just found out she may be in the same boat!

I would have no problem hanging at AKL. My wife and I stayed there when it first opened, and it was great.
Actually, one of my favorite parts of a WDW trip is resort hopping, and eating at various restaurants.

Enjoy your trip!

oh you will have a great time. No parks is very nice - however I might want to change to OKW - no parks near to even get the little ones upset - of course no SALB either!!!:(

however the rooms are bigger - and the boat to DD is very nice!;)

the pools are OKW all have a playground - so your kids would be happy...

of course there is also no BW to walk too - if you plan to have a night out with your husband. You can walk/boat/bus to DD and then to PI from OKW. OKW also doesn't have onsite child care - but you can call the front desk and they will arrange a child care sitter.

:bounce: We wiill at BWV first week in Sept plan to skip the parks, but we don't have any kids!
Thinking there's plenty of other things to do such as : touring the resorts, pplaying minature golf, checking out new rstuarants, people watching....

We have had many wonderful non park vacations at WDW. There’s lots and lots of free stuff to do. One night, ride the monorail. Get the front seat at the Grand Floridian then take a boar ride from the Poly to the Contemporary. See the fireworks from the roof of the Contemporary. See the 7 seas lagoon light show. Eat at Chef Mickeys.
Visit the Boardwalk. Walk the lagoon. Swim at any and all the pools. Visit all the resorts. Get an ice cream. Play mini-golf.
Do the marketplace. See all the toys. Check out the birds at the Rainforest. Ride the carousel and have a blast at the Lego Store. Continue thru all the shops and stops at Pleasure Isle and the West Side. See a movie (stadium seating for a matinee is a bargain). You and the kids will love every minute of it.
