A Few Vow Renewal Questions

I would LOVE to have a Disney Vow Renewal for our 20th, which is in 3 years. I would have loved to have had a Disney wedding, but didn't know about them when we married in 1990, and doubt I could have afforded it.

I'm not even sure I could afford the vow renewal. I mean I COULD, but feel a little guilty about spending all that money. I would love to invite our immediate families (our parents, our siblings and their spouses, and our neices and nephews), but if they all came, and they probably would, that puts us right over 20. That's before inviting friends, and some of them would want to come.

I could probably afford the intimate, but we'd need the custom, and I just can't see spending that much money. And it would be a big stretch for us.

So my questions (finally!):
1. I hear it's cheaper at the Swan/Dolphin. Has anyone done that? We own DVC at the Boardwalk, so it's not far. But I'm guessing we couldn't walk from the BWV to the Swan/Dolphin in our wedding attire, right?

2. I think I read about this, but can't remember if it's allowed - can you do a private vow renewal inside a Grand Villa at BWV? My BIL is an ordained minister, so we would have that covered.

3. IF #2 is allowed, could I order some food for a little party afterward in the villa?

4. Where can I find prices for an Illuminations Dessert party? Also, IF #2 is allowed, I was thinking we could have an Illuminations Dessert party that evening for our guests, but I have no idea of the price range for that. Or do you have to have a wedding, to have the Illuminations Dessert Party?

I'm just kicking some ideas around in my head, so thanks for your help!

I can answer your dessert party question!

Anyone can have a dessert party, you do not have to have a DFTW. However, you will be required to have a room minimum. I know with Disney events it's 10 nights but you can also do it through Grand Gatherings and I'm not sure what those requirements are.

Dessert party pricing is a minimum of $19.50 per person. Your pricing will depend on what location you have and what menu you choose.

If you are not planning to go through DFTW you will not be able to wear wedding attire into your dessert party.

I would recommend calling Grand Gatherings first for requirements and pricing.

Good luck!

I would like to do the same for our 20th also in 2010, but ours would be small enough , just us and our daughters maybe a few more,so starting to get ideas now and to plan ahead as much as can. best of luck to you.

I am planning a vow renewal for May 27, 2008, I hope :goodvibes I have finally arrived at a year out so I have called DFTW to begin a custom vow renewal!!

To my knowledge, you cannot really get permission to do a private vow renewal in your GV. You would have to do it without asking. As far as food, I cannot see why you could not have a caterer bring food in to your grand villa but I personally wouldn't arrange to have Disney deliver it. Good luck with your decision:3dglasses
