I just want to share some of the decorations from the resorts and DTD for those that cannot make it during the holidays. It was just an overnight trip and no park visits.

I hope you enjoy them.

I love the carousel at Beach Club this year, even more than when I saw it last year.

That was the toughest shot of all to get right. It was low light, moving, and needed a wide angle. My 50mm f/2 would not do b/c I could not keep people from blocking my shot when backing up enough to frame it. I ended up with the kit lens at 18mm, f/3.5, ISO 1600, and 1/20 sec. I guess I need to save for a better wide angle lens!

Nice pics, thanks.

Isn't it funny how noise and ISO work? Without getting out the microscope, it looks like the ISO 1600 photo has less noise than the first photo, which is ISO 800. (Probably because of the pattern of wood in the ceiling which probably will look like noise whether it is or isn't.) The carousel one turned out very nice even without the use of the prime.

You may want to consider a Zenitar for a cheap, reasonably fast (2.8) wide angle. It'll allow you to get right up close to something like and still take in a fair amount of light, for a pretty cheap price.

I had to do all of my processing quickly and really didn't get to do everything I still plan to do, so the higher noise in the 800 may be due to me bumping up the exposure a little during processing and then just using my standard ISO 800 noise profile. I usually like to do a little more hands on noise reduction when I mess with the exposure, but I have been busy with the holidays and work (year end accounting junk). I cannot remember if I had to adjust the exposure or not on that one and I am away from my RAW files right now.

Also, do not judge any exposure settings on the shot of the girls in the Poly b/c I totally messed with that one. My DW was rushing me and I used way to quick of a shutter. It was RAW, so I processed it twice; once for decent exposure on the girls and once for decent exposure of the background. I then masked them together. Three girls are mine and the redhead in the middle is DDs friend.

Here is the link to the rest of the pics I put out on Photobucket. http://s22.photobucket.com/albums/b309/kmhobs/WDW%2012-15/ Please remember that this was a quick and dirty processing, so some do not look the best yet. About the only things I did so far were a quick look at the exposure, noise reduction, and unsharp mask.
