So after nearly 2.5 years of missing Disney, we booked a trip for September and will be staying at SSR. A few questions:

1. The trip was booked as an exchange through Interval by my parents who own another timeshare. They got a guest certificate and put it in my name, but if there any way to link that to MDE?

2. Considering the way it was booked, is it possible to make a room request?

3. We will be traveling with our almost 2-year-old and would like a crib. Is that something we can request or are we better off bringing a pack-and-play or renting from an outside vendor?

1. Wait a couple of weeks, then call DVC MS at 800-800-9800. Tell them you're coming on an inbound II exchange and need the Disney confirmation number to link it to MDE. You'll also need to give them the names and ages of everyone staying in the room, just like for a normal DVC reservation. The reservation should be in your name, but if they can't find it, give them your parents' names. Be prepared for it to take a while, like 30 minutes - there are reports on TUG of CMs having trouble finding the exchange reservations. Hopefully it won't take long; I called a few weeks ago about an RCI inbound exchange and wasn't on the phone more than 15 minutes.

2. You can make your room request when you make the call.

3. There used to be pack 'n' plays in all the rooms, but they took them out due to the cleaning issues with the pandemic. You can request one when you call, but if it's not in your room when you check in, just call Housekeeping from the phone in your room, and they'll bring one. I've read several reports here on DISboards that Housekeeping has been providing cribs instead of pack'n'plays but am not certain which one you'll get. Hopefully someone with recent experience will post here.

Enjoy!

I have been searching for an answer and came upon your post. A friend of mine gave me a guest certificate in my name from Interval Exchange for a week at SSR. I just called DVC today and they still have my friend's name on the guest certificate. Is there a way to get this reservation in my name before I arrive, or can it only be done when I check in? I was hoping to get the reservation in MDE.

Your friend needs to call DVC and give them your name and the names of everyone else who will be staying. At that time your friend can also get the Disney confirmation number for you to link to your MDE. I don’t believe you can do this yourself - only your friend.

Thank you so much, that is really helpful! I will let her know.

When the GC is issued, that (eventually) makes its way from Interval to DVC. When DVC gets it, they will change the Lead Guest name to the name on the GC, and removing the names of the other guests that were on it if any. That process can take a week or two, but it should not take longer than that. If it does, your friend probably needs to call Interval rather than DVC. The Lead Guest name can't be changed to yours without DVC being notified by Interval.

Just following up but I called on Friday and was able to link my reservation with no problem! She also told me the rooms are all equipped with Pack and Plays. :)

Check right when you get in the room. We've been back 4 times since reopening and none of the rooms have had pack n plays.

Oh, good to know! Were you able to get one right away? Wondering if we should just bring our own.

Also, do you know if they have cribs available instead?

My twins are 8 and super tall, so way too old for those. :D But I always check the closets and drawers when we get into a room and I've noticed that there haven't been pnps in the closets. We've stayed at BLT, BWV, VGF, Poly, and Kidani since Jan 2021 and none have had pnps.

I don't have any kids, but I remember that there are no longer pack and plays provided in the rooms. Last trip May 13. not sure if they will go back to providing them, but be aware that you might have to request one.

Just call housekeeping, they will bring PNP as needed. Since Covid, they do not put them in the rooms

Thank you! The woman on the phone told me it would be in the room, but I'll make sure to request one. :)
