My DD's Girl Scout troop decided to spend their cookie profit on a trip to Disney World! We stayed at the Polynesian (4 rooms) with a Magic Kingdom view...beautiful!

FYI: we had 12 girls, 3 leaders (including myself) plus 1 extra Mom to help.

Wed night:
We ordered Dominos pizza, had it delivered to the lobby and met the guy there. Wasn't cooked enough for my liking, very doughy, but the girls enjoyed it and we sat outside on the patios and ate with the awesome Magic Kingdom view!

Thurs morning:
Breakfast at Ohanas with Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto (I think, it was way too early for me). Orange juice was already on the table when we sat down and the food arrived within minutes. The pineapple, watermelon and grapes were very fresh and tasty, the cantaloupe wasn't ripe yet. Skillet with eggs, waffles, potatoes, bacon and sausage. Biscuits and some type of cinnamon loaf were also on the table. Food was good but rushed. Not a good value for us since 10 of the 12 girls are considered adult prices and most ate a piece of bacon and said they were full.

Thurs afternoon:
Lunch at Whispering Canyon Cafe. One of the other leaders and I both work there so it was no big deal for us but we thought the girls would enjoy it. In the hour and a half we were there, we did the hokey pokey, pony ride and the happy song. Fun was had by all. Between everyone, I think we pretty much had one of everything from the menu. Some had milkshakes which were given a thumbs up and others had dessert with not a crumb left.

Thurs night:
We monorailed it over the the Contemporary and had dinner at the Food and Fun Center. Typical Disney burgers, chicken fingers and pizza. Frozen Coke machine was a big hit. They had a small topping bar. Big screen TV in the back dining room with the Disney channel playing to keep the kids occupied. After dinner, we got each girl a play card for the game room which kept them busy for almost an hour.

Friday morning:
Doughnuts, granola bars and muffins in the rooms as we packed and headed out.

Friday afternoon:
Lunch at 50's Prime Time Cafe. Everything was great. Two good servers who were in character but not over the top. Again, just about one of everything on the menu was ordered. The pot roast and fried chicken were raved about. Two girls split one chicken pot pie from the adult menu and neither could finish it. I was able to order a double sized tossed salad from the kids menu and then the grilled chicken from the kids menu. Desserts were amazing. Four girls shared a Dads sundae and thought they were in heaven. I had the angel food bundt cake with strawberries and blueberries with homemade whipped cream. Amazing. Smores were ordered and 3 people shared. One girl got a green bean sundae and wasn't too happy about it.

Great time was had by all!!

Just a side note:they have a coffee bar set up at the Poly on the second floor just before you go out the doors to the monorail. We walked by it twice but never stopped. Lots of very good looking muffins and pasteries in the display case. They seemed to only be open in the mornings though and were closed by 11am.

Thanks for the reviews!!! Your troop must have sold a LOT of cookies... What a great idea to spend the profits on a DW trip!!! :goodvibes

The troop sold alittle over 4500 boxes this year.

That's great I hope you all managed to get to EPCOT and incorporate some badge requirements in with all the great knowledge there.

I was top cookie sales person in my troop growing up but we were big into mountain climbing and camping. Troop 91, Tombigbee Council.

I am sure the girls had a BLAST!

What is a green bean sundae?? Don't tell me it's vanilla ice with green beans and hot fudge or so!

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.

Great report! Back when I had my troop in MD, we were working towards a WDW/Disney cruise trip. But we were doing more things than cookie sales (they were cadets).

Woo-Hoo!! What a memorable trip that must of been. I'm a first year brownie leader and I can only hope one day we'll be able to take our girls there (once they are older) but then again, it would cost us even more money just to get down there since we are in MI!

Way to go on your troop's awesome cookie sale!

It was the green beans the girl didn't eat with whipped cream on top. Very funny!!

Wow - we live here in the North East - our Girl Scout Troop would love to spend their cookie money at WDW - but alas - plane fare, costs.....
We would need at least $1200 per Scout.
They do horse back riding instead with their cookie money.

Congrats to your Troop !

We are very lucky that we only live 20 minutes away.

Fun review!!! DANG, I wish my girlscout troop could have afforded not only WDW but the POLY?! Are y'all from Palm Beach?! ;) What a fabulous memory that will be for the girls!!!

We have a troop that can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. We just made our reservations for next year after saving for the past two years. Great to read your reviews, our 18 girls are really looking forward to this trip.
