A few restaurant decisions -- please help

1) For our rest/park free day, would you choose Boma Breakfast at AKL or 1900 Park Fare breakfast at GF? We're staying at CR, so GF is convenient, but I thought we might look around AKL after breakfast if we hit Boma.

2) Epcot dilemma -- I have a Princess Story book lunch scheduled and a 7:40 ADR at Coral Reef for Dinner. I'm afraid of how long we'll have to wait at Coral Reef before being seated and miss Illuminations. This will be our only night scheduled at Epcot. We plan to take a break at the hotel shortly after lunch and return to park around 5:30-6:00 p.m.
Anyone have suggestions for good counter service at Epcot for dinner? Or other TS restaurants in Epcot where I may have luck finding an earlier opening. I'll keep checking back with Disney Dining, but I'd like suggestions on which ones to accept or decline if something opens up.

go to Boma for breakfast. First, it's good and second AKL is worth a tour.

On Epcot; when is Illuminations that night. I agreaa that at 7:40 the wait could be long at Coral Reef. If Illuminations is at 9:00 you do risk missing it. A couple of TS places you may consider are Biergarten, Restaurant Marakesh and Tokyo Dining. For CS Sunshine Seasons, and the England and German CS locations are good.

The breakfast I think depends do you waht to see characters or not - as Boma's is character free. But 1900 PF has characters AND is closer to you. BUT after you eat at Boma's its nice to walk around to see the animals.

For CS at Epcot we always have liked the Tangerine Cafe(Morocco) BUT for a seat with a view of Illuminations and quick Mexican food try to get a table near the lagoon at Cantina de San Angel about 7:30pm its a great viewing spot if you get it.

TS at Epcot Le Cellier(Canada) & Marrakesh Restaurant (Morocco) both WONDERFUL!

Well, LeCellier may be the best dining option at Disney at any price in my opinion. Coral Reef was not real good the last time we went, and Sunshine Seasons in the land may be the best TS at Disney. They have great grilled options and if you are on the Dining plan the desserts are by far the best for a TS as they have a seperate pastry section where you get your dessert.

As a pp said, I would also suggest Boma for breakfast with a little time spent at AKL afterward, it's an amazing resort and is great to just spend some time in looking around.

As for Epcot, I think you would be pushing it on catching illuminations if you stick with your current adr at Coral Reef. My suggestions for TS in WS would be Biergarten (our favorite) or Rose & Crown. As for CS, I too would suggest grabbing a table at San Angel Cantina and holding out there after dinner for a good view of Illuminations.

I totally agree with the opinion about Sunshine Seasons, but it is a counter service restaurant not a table service. We have always enjoyed our meals there and it always seems much less crowded for dinner than for lunch.

If you prefer a table service at Epcot, I think the only two that consistently get not so good reviews are Nine Dragon and San Angel Inn. Otherwise I think it is mainly a question of personal preference what kind of food you like. I have heard that Biergarten and Marrakesh are normaly ADRs that are easier to get than the others. You might also consider of eating dinner in one of the restaurants at BC/YC or BW for an evening in Epcot.
