We had dinner Saturday evening at California Grill. It was very good. Husband had the goat cheese ravioli appetizer and loved it. I ordered the pulled chicken flatbread for us to share and they brought out the cheese and tomato one. I didn't know for sure, ate it and it was delicious, and then asked because I was curious. Sure enough, they brought the wrong one and they didn't charge me for it, although I assured them that it was wonderful. I had the pork tenderloin which was great, but not what I expected. It was almost like it was in a bowl on top of grits. I had expected a polenta that was firmer. I liked it. My husband had the filet and loved that too. Desserts were the weakest part of the meal. I had the chocolate cake with the liquid center and white chocolate ice cream. It was OK. My husband had the blueberry trifle and said it was OK too.
I was pretty surprised at the rudeness of many patrons at fireworks time. I had never been there for fireworks before. A large number of people just get up and come stand anywhere they want and block the view of anyone who doesn't enter the fray. We were not at the window, but a couple of tables back and I finally said to one man, "Excuse me, but there are people sitting behind you." He apologized and moved, which was nice. We could see as much as we wanted over people who were sitting at their tables, but the standing people just blocked everything.
On Sunday we had lunch at Beaches and Cream, and it was fine though again, my order was wrong. I must have been jinxed this weekend. I don't think it was worth traveling over from MGM, but we did enjoy walking around the yacht and beach club area.
Sunday night dinner at Bahama Breeze was wonderful. I liked it better than California Grill, though my husband thought the Grill was better. He had the jerk chicken breast and I had the chicken kabobs. Plus a couple of very good Mojitos and we shared the coconut shrimp appetizer. I couldn't even finish all the food, so dessert was not an option. I just wished I could have used my leftovers. Tons of people were leaving with leftover in boxes.
We also had an awesome room service breakfast at the Peabody and a forgettable breakfast in one of their restaurants.
