a few questions

okay, so my planners name is maxine. i haven't heard from her and would like to know if anyone has a contact number for her? email address? also has anyone worked with her? im guessing she's a busy girl but my wedding is in 8 months and im getting nervous!

i would also like your input on the officiant. i know there are plenty of threads on this but i just don't know who to contact! i mean i need to find someone fast!

hi there... i dont know maxine, but i would call jack day for the officiant!!! we are using him for our march wedding, and so far he has been fantastic!!!

While I know it feels like your wedding is close, try not to stress too much. The biggest (and best IMO) thing about doing a Disney wedding is they can do anything, anywhere, at any time. Unlike home, where you need to find a catering person, baker and everything else who is "available" for your day, there it all just happens. We were able to plan a custom wedding, original guest list was close to 50, maybe a little more, and I did it all without a planning visit (beyond a sales visit where we looked at locations to "sell" DH on the idea) and in 6-8 1 hours phone calls. That was before email was such a common and user friendly thing. Have faith it will all work out.

I know I've seen Maxine's name from other brides, I don't recall hearing bad things about her, but I'm not positive.

She usually responds pretty quickly. I know it is super frustrating that she is not responding, but she does come through in the end. She took my ideas and planned everything perfectly. Who are you using for photography? I DO NOT recommend Disney Photography. I had issues with them.
OH, and Rev. Kevin Knox was my officiant. Loved him!

megan, i really don't know who im using for photo. the package is with disney but no one seems to use them. oh and i'll find out about your officiant. i was reading past posts about him and thought id give it a shot.

I had Maxine, but got so frustrated I changed to Lynn. As for officiants Rev Day was really nice, although he had surgery and couldn't do my ceremony I still recommend him. For photos contact Randy Chapman he is wonderful, very professional and very accommodating.

Hi - just wanted to put in a word of encouragement. Not hearing from your Disney EM is not unusual - especially if you've already told them your requests for floral, food, venue etc.... Planning a Disney wedding is unlike planning a wedding anywhere else - it's so hastle-free that you start to freak out and many people change EM's because they are so paranoid! The EM's literally take note of your requests and send you a bill 30 days (or less) before the wedding - we only had one call from our EM's assistant to verify everything before billing and did most of our planning through email. After the planning, all you do is show up! It sounds way to simple to be true, but it really is that easy! If you haven't made your event plans yet, don't worry - the Disney time line works much different than anywhere else, they probably won't really contact you until 2-3 months before the wedding to finalize cake, floral and catering details. I found that the best way to contact your EM is to find out the name & phone number of their assistant. Normally EM's are not in the office, as they are "event managers" (as opposed to a wedding planner that we all are familiar with). The EM's literally spend their day at weddings/conferences etc and make sure the day goes off without a hitch. Ours was there at 8am to get my hair and make-up going, escorted us to pictures before the wedding, made sure the wedding went fine and was there to coordinate our entire reception. After your wedding - you will realize why they are so elusive!

Don't let people scare you about Maxine. I have her and she has been great so far. I am not a call type of person, though. I do everything through email. She responds to me so quickly. She does an auto reply if she will be away-which i think is very nice.
I have heard that sometimes she will tell you that you can't do something, but to just keep asking. I haven't had her tell me no yet, so I am not too worried.
I email her all the time and she always has a nice response.

I have been wondering, though, after reading people's posts about her if there is some type of evaluation on the Wedding planners. I mean, do they send you a form to fill out asking for how your planner did? It seems that with so many people having problems that it would have been fixed by now. Maybe it has and that is why I haven't had any problems, I don't know.

well i emailed maxine on wednesday late afternoon and she reponded by dinner time. she was very apologetic about not contacting me first. she sent me downloads of planning material, since i haven't gotten anything. and i'm on her "to do" list for tuesday. we'll see what happens, but i hope i don't have to change planners like LUVTGR. thanx for your help girls!

Hi

I had Maxine for my august wedding and everything was perfect! She understood what DH and I wanted and didnt try and baffle us, she talked us through absolutely everything. She described the flowers, cake venue, absolutely everything. If i was to do it all again i wouldnt want another em.

I planned our wedding in just 1 month and maxine made evrything perfect.

As for the officiant i had Rev. Tim Herring he was wonderful we had the rose presentation ceremony and it was wonderful.
