We'd been hoping to return in October but having read about how busy it is and seeing all French schools are off plus the UK I'm a bit concerned.

So what if we were to move it to May half term? French schools are all in school time according to a calendar I found online. We have inset days we can make use of too :)

However the discount for HNY and NPB drop to 15% :/ so I've priced up DCR which is 30% plus half board. How long does it take to get to the parks from DCR? What is the half board breakfast? I understand you have to collect it rather than it being a buffet. Also are swim shorts allowed in the pool or Is it speedoes for men? :/ :/ lol Are the premium cabins ok? I'm not awfully fussy but I like somewhere clean and not too run down.

We would be there for my ds birthday which means we could do the Steakhouse character brunch - could we use our half board vouchers toward this? Can we order a birthday cake (do they allow us to take leftovers away) Do you see a good range of characters?

Sorry for all the questions - lots of new things to try even though we've been 7 times before!

Hi :)

May can be a great time to go, but also a minefield will several different european bank holiday so pick carefully.
There is no longer character Brunch in the Steakhouse sadly :( This was stopped last year.

DC is about a 10 mins drive to DLP and very easy to navigate. The cabins were fine for us, lots of space, clean and well enough equiped for our needs. Breakfast is collected from huts scattered around the complex and consisits of bread, spreads, OJ etc, fairly basic but enough of it.

You could use your vouchers at Cafe Mickey or Inventions for a character meal. Characters are now in the DLH for lunch as well as dinner (not sure how long for though)

Hope this helps a bit :)

Oh no :( that's a shame about the brunch. Alternatively could we use our vouchers towards the inventions brunch?

I was thinking DCR would be handy to pop back to in the afternoons for a swim and for dinner (we'd use our half board for lunches and have a lighter dinner) do you remember if they had a fridge? Microwave? Oven?

Need to get all my info together before she gets home from work so I can convince him to change from October to May

All the Disney owned hotels allow swim shorts for men so you are ok there.:thumbsup2The birthday cakes are now Vacherins - ice cream cakes so you can't take them away. If it's this May our Bank holidays are the 1st/8th/14th/25th so avoid also the 2nd/3rd and the 9th/10th and 15th/16th/17th and the 23rd/24th. Basically all May weekends:faint:

It would be 21 - 25 May. Would this be quieter than 22 - 26 October? Oh it's so annoying trying to keep to half terms, we love going in March time but ds is getting older and I don't like him having too much time off these days.

What are Bank holidays? And are there any during my trip from June 10th - June 14th? :)

Bank holidays (UK) are public holidays too you I think ;) In France they are called Feast days (many of them are of religious origin) when no one in the public secteur works and many many people in the private secteur don't either.
We have 11 of them and there aren't any this year in June ;)
