First off I want to say I am not engaged... and I'm not sure if it is happening anytime soon or not... but I'm still thinking about this. I'm talking about it with my parents and trying to make them understand why its important to me. BLAH BLAH BLAH... you don't want to hear me talk right now I bet... anyways...

1) You have to have a minimum of 25 room nights... if your guests are DVC, does that count towards the room nights?
2) How does the payment process work?
3) Do you have to use the menues that they have already laid out or can you make up your own meal?
4) You rent buses to transport your guests:
a) does this include pick up from the hotel to the ceremony site, ceremony site to reception site, reception site back to hotel?
b) do you pay for the whole time (like pick up at hotel to drop off at hotel at the end of the night, or do you pay for just the "en route" time)?
c) what if you have guests staying at 8 different resorts?

Ok, I think that's it for now. Thanks for your help.

Ask as many questions as you want! And talk all you want too! That's what this board is for!

It sounds like you are planning a custom/Wishes wedding. I had an intimate (way back when they were still called that ;) ) but I can try to answer some of your questions.

1) You have to have a minimum of 25 room nights... if your guests are DVC, does that count towards the room nights?

Yes, just give their reservation/confirmation numbers to your EM/WP and they do count.

2) How does the payment process work?

I think "officially" you make a deposit shortly after you book the wedding, and then the balance is due about 30 days before (although they sometimes slide that pretty close!).

3) Do you have to use the menues that they have already laid out or can you make up your own meal?
I'm pretty sure you can make up your own menu...it just depends on your budget.

With the transportation...I'm pretty sure that you pay for it in blocks of time (i.e. 4 hours of service). I'm not sure about the other logistics, but hopefully someone else can help you with that!

Good luck and happy planning!

Another questions for you ladies. What do you do with your wedding gown on the flight down? Do you trust the airline to not lose it if you check it or do you risk folding it up to get into a carry-on or something else?

Ok, I have another question.

It says you need a minimum of 25 room nights. When I was playing with the Wish Book or whatever it's called and I put in that we would be having more than 76 guests it said we needed to fill 76 room nights. What is the deal with that? Not every person is going to get a room a night. And even assuming, my family and friends don't have a large amount of money and will all gang up in rooms. How does anyone make that many number of nights?

I guess Disney does want to get people to stay there for vacation and all that... and I would assume much of my family (I don't know about anyone else) would probably plan their vacation around that time and stay a few days.

Anyways, I also noticed that you can only get a couple of resorts (3 I think). So what if people want to stay at 5 different resorts (I don't think any of them will be staying at deluxe resorts, but I want to the night before my wedding)?

Ok! Now I have some questions about an Escape Wedding.

1) It says you get a cake and champaigne (sp?), but do you get a reception? I don't see it on the website. And if not, do you just go and have dinner somewhere or something?

2) Probably a dumb question, but I don't know the answer... it says "18 guests or less," does that include the bride, groom and bridal party (assuming there is one)?

It is 18 guests and the bride and groom make 20. If you have a bridal party they are included in the 18 as are children. There is a cake and champagne "reception" with a violinist and you have a first dance, toast, and have cake. It does not include a typical reception. If you want dinner then you are responsible for arranging it. Also for a custom the room nights are based on how many guests you have but it isn't 1 room per person for night. That is way too much. Not sure how they are doing it now. I believe the 25 rooms nights are if you have 40 guests or less.... maybe somebody else who is having a larger number can answer that one for sure.

The minimum room number is based on the number of guests that will attend. We are expecting 75, so our base room night guarantee is 50. However, if you put more room nights in your block, the number of nights you have to guarantee also increases. We still get our free night with 50 room nights, but I actually put 106 nights in our room block - this makes is responsible for 87 room nights. Basically, the more nights in your block, the more you have to guarantee.

As to some of your earlier questions - you can use the Disney menus or come up with your own. We completely customized the menu for our reception.

You can chose up to four hotels for your room block. Guests can stay anywhere on WDW property and it will count towards your room nights, but they will only get the wedding discount for the hotels that are actually in your block.

Thank you so much for your guys input. I really appreciate it.
