a few questions... can you help me make sense of...

The paper parking pass certainly works at the parks - never once had to show a KTTW with my pass in the window - just waved straight through.

Resorts are different - on every resort you have to stop at the guard shack and show ID. KTTW will be sufficient most times but they can ask for photo ID as well.

Yes i've never shown my KTTW at the parking gates - just the paper on the dashboard.

At the guard hut to OKW some used to let us in (we had the paper on dashboard) - the older female guard always wanted a driving licence.

very different experience here.

At POP we always used the automated gate where you swipe your KTTW
but when we went to Poly or AKL we always had to show our KTTW

at parking lot entrances, CMs never bothered to look at our permit behind the windshield, some of them even requested the parking fee when we weren't quick enough to show a KTTW. One of them (at DHS) even took the time to check the check-out date on the card before he waved us through

We loved OKW. Olivias to be honest not so much. Great food at Wolf Gang pucks at DTD and its only a short bus or boat ride away.

When we have come back in a cab the security at the gate even asked to see our KTTW card.

Over all I would say make ADRs I know its tough to make the decision on where to book so far in advance but like PPs have said we have seen so many people get turned away or told that they olny have openings really late on at night. It can get pretty frustrating trying to get somewhere to eat and keep getting turned away. While its quieter in october with free dinning it can be VERY busy.

Sci Fi for example we saw lots of people being turned away (some of them were not happy) and we had to wait 20mins past our ADR time.

allears.net has the menus and they have been updated recently.

As for the Horror nights friends of ours went and they are big horror film fans and they freaked out. Its much more intense than they were expecting. They have seen all the saw movies etc. They had been to simillar things here in the UK and they said it was much much more intense than that. Its not just that you walk through places there are people that jump out/ follow you etc and it was all college kids and adults and the language was pretty choice from some of them as well. I think its a fine line between watching a movie and being in the movie if you get what I mean.

Sorry i have been away from the board for a while, thank you all so much for your replies
It has really helped me get my head around it all - there is sooooooo much to figure out

Sounds like there are a few of us that re going to be at OKW at the same time :cheer2: so hopefully we might bump into each other x

Have never done HHN, but lots of friends have, and they would recommend not to take kids under 13 , they reckoned even there 13 and 14 year olds would not be up for it.
As for parking at Universal everyone pays for parking wether you are staying at a Universal resort or not, only exception is Annual Pass holders get free parking

We will be at OKW from the 6th to the 20th oct what are your dates?

I know it can seem overwhelming but once you get the main things sorted out its amazing how quick it all comes into place.

Keep looking on here and on the other sites. I have got some great tips and every trip we go on I learn something new.

Good luck and happy planning.
