A few questions about taxis while in WDW.

We will be utilizing the Magical Express for our December trip, but also plan to use taxis to get around to some hotels for dinner at their signature restaurants.

I was wondering what the protocol for getting a cab is. I know if we are at our hotel, we can ask the front desk to call for us---but I have a few other questions that hopefully someone can answer. :goodvibes

1. If you are in a park and would like to take a taxi to your on-property hotel (not at park closing) are there taxis lines up outside of the park, or should we call for one while we are exiting the park?

2. If we call for a cab, can anyway tell me how long I should expect it to take for it to arrive? For example, if we have an 8:30 breakfast reservation, should I call at 7:00 to say we need a cab at 8:00, or can I just call at 7:45 for an 8:00 cab?

3. We will be staying at BWV. Once the cab arrives, how much time should we expect it to take getting from the BWV/Epcot area to the Magic Kingdom and MK area resorts?

Responses to any of these questions would be really great!

Thanks!
Ann

I'd be interested to anwers to some of the same. I'd like to take a taxi fromTyphoon Lagoon to Magic Kingdom (to get to the Bippidi Boutique). I want to make sure we know how to contact the taxi from TL. This is for next week. Thanks for any info.

Last Aug when left TL we saw 2 taxis sitting in the parking lot in special spaces reserved for them.

You should be able to find taxis outside all the park except MK. You would have to go to the TTC. Most people would say you should walk over to the CR there should be a lot of cabs over there.

We always found taxi's waiting outside the resorts we were at, so we just jumped in (Pop, Boardwalk, Contemporary, Beach Club, GF....) Never paid more than $20 with tip to get from point to point. Great when you're in a hurry or need to get from resort to resort. :goodvibes

There are taxis waiting outside of every resort. They aren't necessarily visible, but they are there. If you don't see any, ask at the Bell Services desk/podium in the porte cochere area (that's the area just outside the main lobby, the spot where one would be picked up/dropped off) to get a taxi for you. That CM will either get on a handheld radio, grab a phone, whistle and wave, or jog across the lot to a spot where he/she knows the taxi drivers are waiting for exactly that signal.

There's really no need to call one in advance.

They should be lined up somewhere outside each of the parks, also (except MK ... they'll be at the TTC, as you've already learned). Calling one to one of those locations would likely be ineffective, anyway ... if there are already taxis waiting, the one who's first in line should get your fare rather than someone who you called ... the driver you called would basically be cutting in line, except if the driver was a personal friend or something like that.

What would a taxi from All Star Movies to the Outlet malls run? Any ideas would be appriciated. Debating on renting a car on day or just taking a Taxi.
