I'm trying to decide whether or not to rent points for a stay at WLV, BWV, or BCV for 10/18-25.

1. Is there availability in any of those 3 for those dates?
2. Can a renter take advantage of the ME from the airport? If so, how does that work?
3. Does the renter have full access to the adjacent resort facilities? Pools, exercise rooms, etc?
4. Do any of these properties offer rollaway beds? If so, how much would that be?

Renting points seems to be able to get me into a nicer place than we've been to before so...

5. What is the downside of renting points other than the less than daily maid service?

okay:
1. cant check until monday morning
2. Yes they can use ME, just need to contact Disney and set it up
3. Yes, with your room key, it will say member, which allows access to the other resort pools, unless they are full. ( except stormalong Bay at the Beach club)
4. NO, they dont offer rollaway beds

5. downside, is that Fri and Saturday stays are close to double the points and are close the rack rate cost. (aka: what disney charges) ;)

Thanks!

I'll need to check with my better half to see if either are good with her.

I may hang out and see if Disney releases any discounts on hotel rates for the fall/winter. Man, I'd really like to try out a DVC property though...Do you have any feeling on which one is better (OKW or SSR)? The reason I liked the Epcot resorts is their close proximity to...Epcot and I like the feel of the WL.

We live in Michigan and go up north, so the we get enough Wilderness here. I have never stayed there. We love OKW, rooms are larger and the points are cheaper. I love it there, check out the Disney website, or search for pictures and details about the resort. I like it. it is on the quiet, calm side, which is what I need. ( have four kids= 9,6, 3, 2,) I like going back to a resort, to just chill out. When I went to SSR, it wasnt completely finished, but I thought it was so-so, the pool are was nice, but it wasnt finished all the way when he stayed there, so it seemed to stark, but I am sure that has changed now. ON a good note, they have great counter service meals ( not just hamburgers) and the people were very nice. Both are close to downtown and you catch the boats. which is very fun. Hey dont forget, as a member, you can use the other resorts pools, we always spend a day at the Polynesian, so if you cant get what you want, you can go always hang out there for a day and enjoy all the perks. ;)

Thanks again...Now, the million dollar question.

Is there any way to gauge how long that week will be open at either SSR or OKW? How fast do these places fill up?

Also, what paperwork is generally involved in a rental transaction? What is put in place to protect the renter and rentee?

Okay, I think you have some time, usually they dont fill too fast, but as you know, YOU REALLY CANT TELL. I think you should be okay till mid August. :scared: I know there is a contract that people use and should be on one of these boards. I had it before, but was looking a few days ago and couldn't find it. My husband is an attorney and could probably throw together a contract. The one that most people use a simple paragraph of 4-5 lines. I have a few references also. Before owning, I rented and used no contract and was fine. I am really not sure what most people do. I have rented out before, but mainly to friends and friends of friends. When you know what you want to do, we can work something out. ::MickeyMo

Thanks so much again :)

Would it be possible for you to check the 10/11-18 to see what is available? My wife just informed me that our 4yo will be out of school during the first 1/2 of the week.

Also, what VC did you purchase in?

Ok for that week, they only have SSR. We can book that and get put on a waiting list for VWL, and see how it goes with cancellations, I guess that is a 50/50 thing. :confused3 , sorry we arent having better luck :sad2:
