A few questions about Grand Californian...

First up... how difficult would it be to get 7 month out reservation for end of July? It would be mid-week.. not weekend if that matters either way.

Secondly... would a studio accommodate 5? We have enough points for 1BR but want to be flexible in case it studios are available but not 1BRs. But not sure if they would allow 5.

In the past prior to DVC opening up in Cali we used points to stay in a regular room in Grand Californian using points. That will be out back up option if DVC not available.

Thanks in advance for any feedback... just trying to set my expectations for when I call next month

I just checked the DVC member website -- the studios at Grand Cali sleep 4. The 1BR units do allow 5.

I can't comment on how difficult it is to book a studio in July, however I have booked stays in May for the past 2 years and had no difficulty in getting exactly what I wanted right at the 7-month mark.

Nonsuch is the real VGC expert around here. But in my watching VGC (I'M an owner BTW),1brs are the most available because so many book studios which leaves the 1br available. I'd be really surprised to see a studio available and not a1br.

Just booked a 1 BR at the Grand Californian this morning right at the 7 month mark for 5 nts. Was online right at 8am. I was monitoring availability for the last 10 days, up until 3 days ago they were all booked everytime I checked at like 12 noon.... Availability should be there just do a few dry runs before your actual check in date....Good Luck

I tried last week to get a Studio at 7mo mark (mid June) with no luck (owners or walking reservations blocked me ) but you can get 1BR on 7mo mark day at 8am. Not sure how it will behave on July.
