Never used the DDP before. Think it might actually work for us. It's Me, DH, DD9 & DS5 when we go in March. Staying 8 nights, so we will get 8TS, 8CS & 8snacks, correct?
So, Question 1:
Can we use DDP on our 1st night of arrival to do CM? B/c I read somewhere that they expire at midnight on the day you checkout, which would be day #9.

Question 2:
We want to do Hoo-de-doo & Spirit of Aloha. I know they are 2TS each, but we are planning to go to Universal for one whole day so that should work out fine. So, if we do these 2 shows, then we will have 4TS credits each left, correct? We would be in WDW for 7 days and US/IOA for 1 day, we actually would only miss 1 day without having a TS, right? (which would be okay.)

Question 3:
When we make our ADR's for HDD & SOA, do you still have to give a credit card since you are on the DDP? I know you have to prepay these if you're not on the DDP. Just wondering how that works?

And lastly, based on what I have said, does it sound like the DDP is worth it for us? Just need some opinions and advise. By the way, we are planning our TS to be CM our 1st night, then HDD, SOA, PSB, Donald's Safari Bkfst., & something in MGM, not sure?

Thanks in advance for all your input! :thumbsup2

1. Yes as soon as you check into your resort you can go ahead and get your kTTW card and that is what you will use for everything the entire trip.

2. That's correct you would only have one day where you would miss a TS meal on your trip, but there are good places to use CS credit to sub. for dinner.

3. I've never done either of those two shows, but I do know that when you are on the dinning plan they still take a credit card number in case of no shows and you will be charged. Now, in some instances people were already charged ahead of time, but you might just have to call and straighten that out or take a copy of your statment with you.

I might want to add a point that I didn't realize until after my first trip about 2 credit dinning. When you actually break the cost down per a credit the dinning plan winds up not really saving you any money just some convience. You might have a meal that would be around 50 and adult for one TS credit if you break down the credit per cost you are really losing out on the deal portion. IMO it doesn't make sense, but then again dh grumbles about anything he has to pay OOP.

Yes I think the DDP will work for you just make sure to make the reservations as soon as you can so you won't have to take whatever is open, making not such a great value. Best wishes for an amazing trip!

The DDP is definately worth it when you use it a 1 TS non-buffet meals. That is because often the 2 TS restaurant meals come very close to 1 TS meal costs. The buffet meals are usually 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of a full sitdown non-buffet meal. So yeah it's true, you may not get your money's worth if you favor buffet and 2 TS places only.

The unofficial guide to WDW lists the following high-end 1 TS restaurants as having the best food. They also are among the priciest 1 TS places.
  • Raglan Road
  • Mitsukoshi Teppanyaki

will your children still be 9 and 5 by then? If your 9 yr old will be 10 by then, you'll have to pay an adult price for her. We love the DDP although we've never had to actually pay for it so my opinion is somewhat prejudiced. I do like having our food paid for in advance. No checking prices before we order!

Yes, those are the ages of my children when we go. We did the figuring and it may not save us a whole lot, but we are thinking about the convenience of it all. We would normally never eat that many TS because of how expensive it is, but knowing that it will already be paid for with the package is kinda a plus.
