no we weren`t just standard rooms although we had to have 2 as we are 2 adults and 3 children and were a bit miffed to find that 1 room had 2 double beds and a single sofa bed and the adjoining room had a huge bed and a sofa bed which housekeeping had made up for us so in theory we could have slept comfortably 5 in the first room and 3 in the second yet we had to pay almost £1000 extra to have 2 rooms and then we were penalised with a single adult supplement as 1 adult had to be booked into each room.....anyway enough moaning otherwise you`ll all think i`m never happy!!!!!!!!!!
Wow..... and heres me moaning about what we have had to pay for just one room(difference between 2 years ago and now would have covered a castle club supplements) damn these schoolholidays
Your room does look fab though, and the blue skies set off the new anniversery decorations look a treat, did you have a good trip??
ps how tidy is your room?? you put me to shame ..... I'm all carrier bags and odd shoes
those light deorations were up when i went in january, which was when the christmas decorations were coming down and no sight of 15th (at that point, I had no idea the 15th was going to be this big) so maybe they might tie in somewhere
Although, I now know, if the 15th is going to be this big, I'm going to have to go for the 20th year most definately, maybe a little uni graduation present( if i've done my calculations correctly)
The pics of the castle are gorgeous, I like Chip and Dale but I also like Daisy Duck too!
It was funny really when we were there 2nd March there was no characters on the castle at all. On the 6th March one of the castle turrets did not have anything coming out of the top of it and had a plastic wrapper over the top (turret on the bottom inside right). My mum said to me "Isnt it funny where plastic bags end up, look where that one has blew, right on the top of the castle there" She thought it had blew on the castle.
I think I am right in saying that this is now where Donald Duck is sitting. So I believe that Donald Duck might have been the first one up there!!!!!
The Chandeliers are due to be modifed over the next week, which will see the crowns removed and replaced with golden spheres', and special 15th banners added which will be lit at night.
Having not been before I had nothing to compare it to, so I remember being a bit suprised when we came out from dinner at Walts on Sun 11th March and the disney princess lights weren't lit. I guess if they're part of the 15th celebrations that would be why.
Also when we were in the park til 9pm on the 11th (the only late opening day) the castle only had what I assumed were standard lights to light it up but then other nights I spotted from the hotel window that all the turrets looked like they were lit as I'd seen in christmas photos with lots of white fairy lights covering the turrets and you can see their wire netting in some of the photos I took towards the end of our trip. Also you could see the equiptment towering above the castle that they must have been using to put up the decorations.
Our hotel view was from a long way away so the castle looked tiny.
Liz - is this right? Could you see the castle any better at night from DLH?
