A few photopass questions

I will be going on vacation in April 2013. If I prepurchase the photopass plus now will I be able to wait until I go on vacation next year to start using it? Im not sure if there is a time limit as to when it has to be used after you do the pre purchase, or does it not start until you claim your cards at the park?

Also, say you are going to a character dinner, when you arrive do you show them your photopass card in order to get the photos put on the cd and the print package at no cost?

Final question I promise.
If I arrive on a sunday and will not be going to a park until monday morning where can I go on that sunday to claim my photopass cards to use monday morning at the character breakfast.

There are two photopass levels; photopass and photopass+. Both are able to be purchase ahead of time, and I don't believe there is an expiration (but someone else should chime in here).

Second, plain ordinary photopass does not offer you the print package at restaurants, nor does it allow you to get ride photos. That would be Photopass+.

If you are talking about Photopass, any photographer in the park will give you a photopass card. For Photopass+, you can head to Downtown Diseny on Sunday to turn in your prepurchase voucher for your Photopass+ lanyard.

Do you have to go to Downtown Disney first, or is that just in reference to the OP not going to the park until Monday?

Only if you have the PP+ will this work, but that is how it works. You show them the PP+ card and they will add the photos to the card and give you the prints. If you only have the regular PP, you will first have to purchase the prints before they can be added to your account.

Once again, this only works for the PP+. You can go to the PP place in DTD or in one of the resorts where the service is offered (where there is a viewing station, like AKL) to purchase the PP+ card. If you are sure that you want the PP+, I would preorder it (as long as you are more than 14 days out from your trip) because there is a $30 savings on the preorder. If you are just doing the regular PP, all PP photographers carry the cards, but once again you will not be able to add pictures from the character breakfast onto a regular PP card unless you first purchase the prints.

I called and talked to disney about photopass + last week as I wanted to know if I bought it now would the voucher expire before my trip next year and they said no. I was good to go to buy it.

When you do the preorder, they send you a voucher for the PP+ card that is supposed to be taken with you to exchange for the PP+ card at a PP sales center in one of the parks or DTD. They told me on the phone that it could be done at a PP sales center in a resort as well. The package also contains the voucher with the code for ordering the photo cd as well as the Gallery CD.
