A few Phil & Teds stroller questions!

I just got a P&T's E3 that is to replace my single jogger (already sold) and my Mac Twin Techno (will sell). I'm trying to decide whether we should take the P&T's or the Mac to WDW this winter. We've taken a stroller in the past but it was just a single (and it was a big Evenflo travel system stroller so you can bet we're used to dealing with HUGE when it comes to flying and folding and busses and monorails and the like).

Anyway, my single alone was pretty wide so we got used to that. But the widest part of the P&T's is the back wheels, and they're actually slightly narrower than the width of the Mac. So, do the Mac twins fit easily onto the monorail w/out folding? (that was one place that our old stroller could sometimes roll right in, but othertimes got stuck and had to fold)

Some other questions I have are, with the P&T's stroller bag, can you fit everything (extra seat included) in there?

For flying would you recommend taking the back wheels off? Do they fit in the bag?

When folding for busses, do you just have someone carry the bottom seat?

We have the P&T's backpack and the pannier bag so we'd have plenty of storage with the stroller (plus, I find the Mac to be lacking in that area (IMO) and it seems to be even less since they're 2 small baskets). The backpacks would be a plus because they hook on and they'd be the only bags we'd bring into the parks and super easy to just toss on our backs when we leave the stroller.

The only downside to the P&T's is that the bottom seat doesn't recline, but I'm not all that concerned about that for several reasons. I do like the depth of the seats much better as opposed to the Mac seats. I also like how much narrower and easier the P&T's is to steer. But the Mac does seem much simpler when folded...although I admit *I* don't think it's "super easy" to fold...IMO it takes just as much effort as any stroller.

Hopefully I can figure this out ASAP because I'd like to sell the Mac now if the P&T's is going to work well for WDW.

When flying, we leave the wheels on. The travel bag has a handle on the top, so it is easier to drag the stroller with the wheels on, rather than carry it. With the wheels on, the toddler seat will fit in the bag. I can also squash the pannier bags (empty) in there too. If you were to take the wheels off, it may be a tight squeeze to get the toddler seat in, but I have never tried to do that.

Can't help with your other questions as I haven't been to WDW with kids (currently planning that for next year).

I would recommend a stroller caddy for drinks. I have a Jolly Baby one, which is much cheaper that the P&T's.

In reply to your other thread about rain covers, I have not been able to find one that will cover both seats (but I am in Australia), however the rain poncho's will cover the whole pram if you get stuck.

We have the P&T Sport Buggy, which is the newer model of the E3. And we've taken it to Disney.

It worked well for us and we'll probably be taking it again when we go in October.

It fit fine into the monorail without folding. I'm not sure that a side by side stroller would have fit though. We just strolled the kids right onto the monorail and they stayed sitting in the stroller for the ride.

As for the buses, it was a bit more of a pain, but no more than any other stroller. I just held the extra seat with me when we had to fold it for getting on a bus. The real challenge was when it was after midnight, both kids were sleeping in the stroller, and we had to get them out, fold it down, AND hold onto our backpack, camera bag, souvineer bags, and the extra seat and get onto the bus and back off. And at the time, our youngest was only 6 months, so its not like I could put her down or anything. Yeah, that was interesting LOL!

Thanks so much for the replies!

As for the airport, we will actually be using it until it's time to gate check it, so I'm not too concerned about having the wheels out for that purpose...but then again we may not even have that option if I just find my own bag to fit it.

The drink caddy...would that be up on the handlebar? Mine actually came with a BOB caddy, but if you're referring to one for the kids, I'll have to look into that.

The sleeping kids thing would become a mess. LOL We're travelling with a big group of family so hopefully we'd have lots of help for those situations (but our luck would be it'd happen the one time we were on our own!).

Good to know about the monorail!!

I am impressed with how easy the 2nd seat is to get on and off...and how simple it is just to hold it while folded...I wasn't sure whether to expect it to be big, bulky, and/or heavy or not.

Does anyone notice the handle bar getting "eaten up" from folding it on rough surfaces a lot? Or am I not folding it right??
