I'm sorry, I do not take notes when I'm on vacation but here are a few comments on some of the places we ate at in November.
We stayed at the Swan and the Yacht Club and had room service once at each of those hotels.
At the Swan we had a fish dish seved with jasmine rice and mango chutney. It was delicious and, boy, were we full. Came to about $80 with drinks and dessert (for 2 people).
From Yacht Club room service I had an awesome filet mignon - cut like butter. Dh was less than happy with his salmon because it was sitting on top of greens drowned in a vinegrette. It probably came to about the same price as the Swan meal except we didn't order drinks or dessert (thanks to a surprise upgrade to concierge level).
I don't know where room service meals are prepared at these hotels. I'm guessing Palios and the Yachtsman Steakhouse.
We tried the Cape May Buffet and found it to be okay but we wouldn't go back in a hurry. There are lots of better restaurants. Specifically, I expected there to be a larger variety of fish and seafood. From what I remember there was no fish and the seafood consisted of boiled shrimp, steamed clams and mussels. Also the clams and mussels were sooo tiny. They were prepared okay but when they are so small they lack taste.
Boma- excellent service, very friendly. Interesting food, but in many cases not what I expected. The biggest surprise to me was that so many dishes were quite sweet rather that spicy like I expected. I would go back but I'd have to be in the mood for it.
Spoodles for breakfast was a bit of a disappointment to me because we had been in February and had a delicious meal which was all you can eat with a variety of mediterranean specialties. This time the menu was different and except for a couple of mediterranean-like dishes the choices were, well, ordinary - bacon and eggs, pancakes, french toast, waffles. The food was well prepared and the waiter was friendly so I would go back but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there because you could get basically the same thing anywhere. Too bad.
Akershus for dinner- still great food at a great price though I wasn't too crazy about the sausages. They give you 3 types (don't remember what they were). I liked 1 type and the other 2 were too strong tasting (not spicy especially but strong). Dh loved his venison stew.
