a few newbie questions...we are tent campers

We go and check in on Thanksgiving day. (We will leave Tuesday Night after work/school, Travel all day Wednesday and check in Thursday Morning.) We finish out that week and take the next full week (leaving Friday night or Saturday morning). That first weekend is crowded but not unbearable. Then Sunday thins out a bit and the following Monday through Thursday is great. Not too crowded. We are usually able to get several days of swimming in. It just depends. The weather can switch like, well.... a Switch. You just never no. Some days are shorts and T-Shirts and next day is Jeans and sweatshirts...

The 2 years we have done this (2012 and 2014) Never had an issue with bugs or even crowds being too unruly.

I will say, however that the MVMCP is another story. In 2012, it wasn't bad, but in 2014, the crowds for this "Limited" event was worse then some normal days.

I am also a firm believer in EMH (Extra Magic Hours). I use them differently though. I go to the park TODAY that had the EMH YESTERDAY as the crowds seem to be less intense. (If you search the forums, you will find a LOT of discussion on this topic too).

Either way, I hope you have an awesome time.

Thank you for that hint...I had heard about using EMH in the exact way you described. I have tried searching for EMH on the dates we plan to attend...but, they are not posted yet I do not think. Do they normally stay the same year after year? I am trying to mark out our calendar, but it is hard to do so if you cannot know when EMH is.

I don't believe EMH are the same from year to year. It depends on what activities WDW has going on when they schedule them.

I thought so.

I want to try and plan out some days, but it is hard to do if I don't know the hours.

just wanted to say a quick thank you to all who answered and looked over this thread. I am really excited about coming to the fort....campers are so nice. I had to venture out of this lovely forum trying to understand odd newbie concepts like fast pass plus while rider switching and the people just are not the same. so, kudos to you for kindness =)

...there is so much good info in the old threads!
